In addition to rotary cutters mentioned in an earlier post (Bush Hog SQ600 and Woods XT160), I've looked at a Bush Hog Razorback 5-foot cutter. It's got a decent price ($650 plus $70 for front and back deflectors) but looks lightly built. I'd use it mainly for cutting grass, not brush. Can anyone with Razorback experience or knowledge comment on its durability?

I've got that model 5ft and use it primarily for field mowing. However the field hadn't been mowed for a few years and I had some pretty good patches of undergrowth to cut through. Went through with no problem at all. Even though it's rated for up to 1 inch saplings I cut a 2 inch cherry tree without a problem (Not intentionally, didn't realize the trunk was THAT thick until AFTER I drove over it.) Anyway I'm happy with it although my blades are a little dinged after cutting some rocks in half /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
