Compact 30-50hp Shopped OUT!: Deere, Kabota, NH, Massey & Mihindra

I see a few people suggesting getting a separate mower over mmm for various reasons or even a rfm. How much does a mmm option cost for this size tractor? Exact price not needed, just wondering.

I checked with my dealer, if I were to order a new 1735M, what the additional of a MMM would cost. He estimated around $4500 for the mid-PTO option and mower deck combined.

Nice looking machine. Hopefully it lasts a long time for you. Does Iseki make Agco ( Massey's ) compact tractors ?

First post on the forums! This thread actually made me join. Interested in a 1735M with a cab, but not sure how I would like the cab when mowing. Would be interested in pictures if you have them with the MMM attached.

Glad you got some good things from this.

As said, my initial thought was that I had to go with the 1735M b/c of the belly mower. I know mowing with 72" the 40 model is not needed for this, but for my other chore(s) I thought it to be wise.

I had many inputs on mowing with a cab in my JD Forum. As (also) mentioned, my target was the JD 3046R, so I flung a lot of Q's on that model and most were concerning how the cab would "feel" when doing chores that I was so used to being more closer attached, surroundings wise. While almost every cab owner said that after a couple of Mows (getting use to it), you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner. I also had responses about ground bees attacking the glass and not himself, no bugs or mosquitoes and most of all the cabin A/C and/or Heater.

On the other hand, non Cab owners came clean saying they just don't want that "disconnected" feeling. So I guess it all comes down to the potential new tractor buyer on how they want to use it, comforts included with...or not!

I've been plowing snow in sub freezing temps, crazy windy & blowing snow, just friggen nasty azz weather ....I just finally said "enough is enough!". So, for me it was an easy no-brainer, and, a no looking back decision. I also really liked the slightly quieter in-Cab effect (in any season). My ear muffs are now staying permanent... in my chain saw case!

Cheers and good luck on your decisions.

SKOL! (yepper, Vikings fan stuck here in central NY!)

This is the 1735M Cab you mentioned. Some Mfgr's keep the same frame, wheelbase etc throughout the series just upping the ponies. Massey however does not. You will get a slightly larger machine when you 'up' through the hp models. I believe my ordered 1740M to have about a 2" longer wheelbase than this 1735M model, but, both of these use the same attachment series. Now the 50 gets the larger/heavier loader, backhoe etc. all up-sized a bit to match the upsized tractor. This did interest me, but I had to draw the line in the sand as this can can just go on and on... basically you put yourself in a "up-sell fever".

When I bought my 1735M my dealer told me the only difference was the ponies, then I pointed out the same longer wheelbase as you mentioned. He had both right there on the floor and we measured them and they were the exact same, but...maybe we didn't measure correctly or in the correct spot. We measured from center of front wheel to center of rear wheel. The 1740M had skinnier tires, but that should not have mattered.

The wheelbase for the 1740 is listed as being 1-3/8" longer. I have no idea why it would be longer since the everything but the HP is the same. Maybe a larger front axle???

My dealer had the 1750 there, definitely a bigger machine than my 40. I have to believe that OEM chart as correct.

This attachment won't open for me, but I am new to the forum. Does it work for others?

Update:
1740M Cab Hyd Tractor Delivered 3/8/19

Been super busy, but hopefully will get some real seat time soon. A few laps around the property so far is all, loader familiarity etc. and at a whopping 4.2 hrs

I'm upgrading the front LED's to a 42" 4 tier lightbar, plus I upgraded the headlights already (4x 9005's) which now have 50w(ea) 6K pure white LED's.... they are really really impressive!. This lighting is purely done for my snow removal chores, everything else I mainly do in the daylight hrs.. I've already blinged up the exhaust with a 2"diameter/ 10"long polished chrome curved tip which now directs the exhaust perfectly between loader arm and front tire. This was done more for the non-blackened arm than the looks part (as reported by many prior owners), but I gotta admit it looks like it belongs and is some very sharp eye candy!

Not enough seat time to give any performance ratings. It is way smoother and quieter than the John Deere 3046R is/was, no DEF or regens either, so that's quite comforting too. For the first time in over 30 years, I'll now be operating and aka mowing with no ear muffs or plugs!.... YES!!!! This is a HUGE improvement!!!!

Mods to come: New Stereo, most likely a Kenwood. New speakers as well, the stock is just "OK" at best. Maybe i'm too picky? lol.

TBC.......
