TopSpeed1, I looked back in the forum but can't find anything--did you end up going with the midmount mower on that?

Update:
1740M Cab Hyd Tractor Delivered 3/8/19

Been super busy, but hopefully will get some real seat time soon. A few laps around the property so far is all, loader familiarity etc. and at a whopping 4.2 hrs

I'm upgrading the front LED's to a 42" 4 tier lightbar, plus I upgraded the headlights already (4x 9005's) which now have 50w(ea) 6K pure white LED's.... they are really really impressive!. This lighting is purely done for my snow removal chores, everything else I mainly do in the daylight hrs.. I've already blinged up the exhaust with a 2"diameter/ 10"long polished chrome curved tip which now directs the exhaust perfectly between loader arm and front tire. This was done more for the non-blackened arm than the looks part (as reported by many prior owners), but I gotta admit it looks like it belongs and is some very sharp eye candy!

Not enough seat time to give any performance ratings. It is way smoother and quieter than the John Deere 3046R is/was, no DEF or regens either, so that's quite comforting too. For the first time in over 30 years, I'll now be operating and aka mowing with no ear muffs or plugs!.... YES!!!! This is a HUGE improvement!!!!

Mods to come: New Stereo, most likely a Kenwood. New speakers as well, the stock is just "OK" at best. Maybe i'm too picky? lol.

TBC.......
I replaced the speakers with JBL speakers, a huge improvement. The speakers you have now are not enough wattage to handle the stereo.
If you get a chance, can you post some pics of your exhaust improvement or a link to where you purchased it. Thanks

YES!
The belly mower will work up to and including the 1740M model, I know that the literature states you have to go with the 1735M for the belly mower, but... not true!

I plan on doing a mowing video this Spring on this and how sweet this combo actually is.

Meantime... I just put up a video on my lighting & sound upgrades, I'll also make a post on this separately, so please.. any "upgrade" chat?; direct it over to that thread :)

I am in the market for a 1735M with a belly mower. Was just wondering if you could share any other insight on your experience with this tractor in the mowing duties. I cannot find any information about the uncut turning radius with the belly mower or mowing speeds, cut quality, etc. Also, would like to know the transport speed of this tractor, especially with the smaller turf tires.

Thanks in advance. Look forward to your mowing video.

First up; my quick overview mowing with this Cab tractor;
It was a bit "weird", not having that full connect feeling that you do with a platform model. That lasted maybe for the first 4 or 5 mow jobs but I quickly started getting adapted. I also did a ton of pruning of lower branches from my property trees, this made mowing around them a breeze, but some may put this on the Negative list, me not so, as I really like the trimmed up tree look (AKA State Park Stylee).

Here's my Pro's and Con's Mowing with my Massey 1740M Cab...

The Good:
-Climate Controlled
-Quieter (db wise)
-No Bugs
-Music and/or Blue Tooth Phone Calls
-Sun Shading (Cab wise and Front Visor)
-You fatigue way less and mowing time spent seems to go much easier and faster. I'd go as far as saying "It's a very relaxed mowing experience".

The Bad: (these are all related actually)
-You have to run the A/C even in 60+F days...
-Opening Windows works, but you soon realize the added noise, and soon close them and use the A/C
-The Cab adds natural resonating heat up through from the engine and tranny. So after a 1/2 hr of mowing, you'll switch from outside vent air to the A/C.
-Running the A/C robs a few ponnies, so don't think twice about overshooting your future model's HP. Heck, If I could of got a belly with the 50hp model, I would of!

The Ugly:
There really isn't any. I guess maybe the adjustment period (for me spending over 30 prior years on a platform tractor prior). Took several Mows for me to adjust in fact after the first mow I was ready to send it back to the dealer!, but, I soon grew to love the Cab and can (now) honestly say "I'd never go back". Is it for everyone? No!. Heck, some folks still won't buy power windows in their cars because they think they are going to add major repair expenses!. Nuff Said! lol ;)

To answer your direct Q's above...
=Turning radius mowing is sharp, not in the ZTR mower status of course, but WAY better than my prior Case tractor.
=I mow (as the digital display shows) anywhere's from 8Kmh to 12Kmh. I started out using the Cruise Control, but now moreso just the steady foot on the pedal and w Hydro drive, you can then slow up a tad for the more densely grown areas vs. the lighter growth areas where you can fly over them.
=Turf Tires are awesome. No marked up lawns even whipping a tight turn. Smooth too!. I've gone on the roads in High Range, She's faster than my last Case tractor by about +1-/2 to 2mph. The Turf Tires have really wowed me when Snow Plowing ...which was a major surprise for me.

Currently on my 2nd Year of Mowing with this setup.

TopSpeed1: Thanks for your posts on this thread. I'm new to tractorbynet, but a long time shopper/researcher on 30-40hp tractors and getting ready to pull the trigger. I was totally sold on a 1735M on paper, but when I went to look in person, it just "seemed" physically a little larger than expected. Otherwise still loved the tractor (fit/finish, std options, capability, etc). I'm not interested in a cab and will not be finish mowing with this tractor, but will be doing a lot of loader work, brush hogging, woodlot/trail work and may add BH in the future.

I tested a 1739e while at the dealer and while the size "felt" more like what I was looking for, it's obviously not as nicely appointed as the M, and has the potential regen issues.... (actually now considering the 1739e, despite significant capability differences). I'm just thinking about whether the M is too big for my needs and whether the difference in physical size between 1735M and 1739e would be appreciable. (realizing that everyone has their owns specific set of needs/wants and hard to predict for someone else)

So my questions are: 1. How have you liked your MF1740M overall after using for a while? 2. Have you found maneuverability/agility an issue? Where did you end up purchasing (I'm in the Fingerlakes region too)? How has your dealer experience been?

1. Overall very pleased.
2. Whips around almost on a dime, turning radius is superb.
3. American Equipment in Farmington NY. (See preview and delivery video in 1st couple of pages/this thread). So far good dealer experience. It went in to shop for 50 service, I broke a window hinge on one of the side flip out windows... totally my fault. I told them to order me in a new hinge and I would do the replacement. Well, they did it for me and at no charge.

Anything else, holler up!
