2 questions…
Do yall turn the battery off(behind the cab) when you shut the 417 off for extended periods of time? Say 2+ weeks.

Mine is running warm, up to the yellow. Its a 2016 with 319 hours and a recent 250 hr service. Notice it when running the mower, after about 2 hours of mowing it starts creeping up. I have enough radiator fluid and engine compartment is clean of debris. Any ideas? Its too new to be doing this imo.

Thanks

I always turn the battery disconnect off on my machines that are equipped. There’s the obvious reason of preventing battery discharge but it also reduces fire risk and unintended usage. Turning the disconnect back on isn’t exactly master mind criminal stuff but a joyriding punk probably wouldn’t know.

No, but that is a good thing to do. I need to do that now since it doesn't get used as much now on the smaller (33 acres down from 80) place we moved to.

I replaced the original battery with an AGM battery 5 years ago.

This is how I replaced it. Put the V417 up on the trailer:

Removed the old (black) battery:

Set the AGM battery on a bucket:

Slid the bucket in and over:

Shoved the battery up in place and clamped it down:

Xfaxman, what is that metal white box behind the rear tail light on your rig?

It is an old ammo box that someone painted before I bought it.

Use it for chain and strap storage:

And another chain storage spot:

And shovel storage place above the box:

Now thats a great idea!

Re: tire pressure. I had a tire come off the rim and the guy who dealt with it said it was underinflated and messed up the stem(no good anymore).

I had Haulet SKS 14-17.5 14 PR all around(came with them) and they used the Bobcat 17.5 NHS for the replacement.

Everywhere im looking says 80psi for both types.

Is that correct?

Thanks!

Hooked the chain to the tree I pushed over two months ago:

Dragged it out of the woods:

Pulled it to the brush pile:

Picked it up with the grapple:

View from the seat, pulled forward and extended the boom to put it out over the pile:

Opened the dual lids and gravity grabbed it:
