I don't think Kioti will "make it" in the US market for the long haul. The partnership with Bobcat's dealer network was the only chance they had.

Thank you, you've giving me enough laughs for the next two weeks.

Kioti probably can't just kick back and let it ride but they are here to stay.

Thanks again for the giggles.

well guy's being fairly new to this tractor thing, I don't know if I should worry about finding part's in the future or not any more, After all your comment's time will tell, I even was thinking of selling the BobCat and Buying a JD, but first of all I am not a rich man and the money I would loose on this deal is too much, and now I don't even know if JD will some day get out of the small tractor business, after all Saturn and Olds and Buick went and I did work for a Buick dealership for 15 years, so Ya, it made me realize, no one know's, I am just a little disappointed that my tractor is one of the one that is gone.

and like the song say's que sera sera....

again thnx for all the help and comment's this is a great forum, and I know that some day if I do need a Bob Cat part or advice on a repair you guy's are their.

I don't see any problem at all getting parts for years to come on your current machine.
Bobcat will likely supply parts for years, and the Kioti CK's have been and still are in production with most parts being interchangeable with the Bobcat CT series

We knew you were just kidding about that statement, but just in case, below is some light reading.:)

oh brother. Just having large network of dealerships doesnt mean anything. lets see, Saturn, Oldsmobile, heck GM nearly went under. GM actually found that having too many dealers was a bad thing.

Don't forget Pontiac...thanks GM.

Cars I would have to say are just a little more popular then tractors, and GM only has to supply parts for those brands for 5 years IIRC....I would expect the laws for tractors are a bit more lax.

That all said, Dealer location was about 4-5 down on my scale for me. My dealer is about 60miles away and is not the most close dealer. But top on MY list was brand....had (I) a non-tractor guy know of the brand. To me a tractor falls somewhere between a Car and a claw hammer. A pure tool, and something I know I am going to have to have outside help with. So having known the brand and having a dealer around was pretty high on my list. I had said I looked at everything....well that is not quite true...I did not look at Kioti...no dealer close by. Cub Cadet/Yanmar, just a little uneasy there...seemed a little too much like Bobcat deal....and I LIKE THE BOBCAT A GREAT DEAL.

Do not underestimate a dealer network, yes there is oversaturation....and now GM has limits on that....My last Cadillac dealer sold out to a larger outfit and the dealer moved....why because GM would not allow another Cadillac dealer in the city.

But having that dealer close, having that mass market (TV) ads going on puts your name out there. And that is a bit of a tie-in with the cabelas thread.....but I really think that cabela$ is going to see that it is really more work and expense then it is worth and bail pretty quickly. I would love to be proven wrong, but knowing that company I doubt I am...might take a year....might take 5 years....but I doubt Cabelas will be in the tractor business for long...and could actually damage the market more then it helps.

Oh man, you've gotta take bets on that one!

They've already been here or 20 years (1993), how many more to qualify for "long haul" status?

Actually their web site says the first Kioti was introduced in the U.S. in 1986!

Kioti seems to be doing just fine -maybe Better than fine...

I should add both my tractor brands to the (Bit the Dust) list even though they also manufactured larger machines to.

Also know there may be some of the tractor brands that bit the dust that now have some trouble getting parts for.

So far I have had no trouble getting any thing needed for my Ford -although if the S.O.S power shift trans ever has a failure of (certain) parts it may be un repairable...

The Rhino I have been able to get Anything I have needed in a week or less and for very reasonable prices, that may change someday -but so far so good...

so like several owners of brands that have bit the dust- I will keep using them and not trading them in....But someday a nice used SCUT or small CUT would make a very nice addition

Montana bit the dust, but at this point and time I am not worried about getting parts. All I have to do is ask for parts for an LS R4020, now granted if I need any body parts they won't be green.

Do you recall where they show that? I found two pages on their About Us section that says Daedong USA was established in 1993, but couldn't find a mention if the first sales under the Kioti name here.....strange.
