The tractor is not setup for a loader. No joystick or quick connects, it can still be added but costs a lot more. If just for mowing, doesn’t matter.
As the OP is a new member, I was able to quickly review his postings. His original concern was saving time mowing a 3-acre former sheep paddock, and the consensus was that a zero-turn would outperform a tractor. So far, he has not broadened the proposed scope of its use. In fact he reduced the scope as snow removal is out. From the pictures and observations of others it appears the OP's characterization of "unloved" was spot-on. In my mind the questions are: At what point does a bargain on a less-than-ideal machine become viable? If time is important, will the machine in question require more attention than the OP is willing to devote?
Sorry for the confusion - since my earlier thread I have decided to definitely get a compact or sub-compact tractor, not a ZRT, even though a ZRT would mow my property much more quickly.
I want a loader so I can move woodchips/soil/driveway gravel around. I'd also like to get a rotor-tiller to prepare plantings for staples like sweet potato, corn, carrots, etc. Ultimately I'd love to get a 3PO woodchipper as well. I really don't want two machines, so I'm gonna go with the tractor.
I've narrowed my focus to a Kubota B and BX series, and was considering buying new when I stumbled upon this used one locally. It's a B2301 is certainly a model I'd be happy with. However in light on it's condition and, as dodge man just pointed out, it's lack if joystick/quick connects for a loader...I might pass on it in favour of buying new. I thought it would be pretty easy to buy and attach a loader at a later date, but I see now this isn't really the case. I'll probably look to buy a B2301 new and spring for a loader at the same time (original plan was to buy tractor and add loader later).
