Comparing JD 2520 Specs with Mahindra 2615 HST

twohillsdan; When I buy tractors I go with the best dealer support, parts availability, and value. I like to trade every 4-6 years and it is important to have a machine that works the way it should and be on the "wanted list" by used buyers. A popular quality machine will not cost more in the long run. Go to an auction and see what the demand is. Spend 4k less today and ... how much less is it worth later ? I realize many cuts are built in foreign countries but when you see one apart ( especially transmissions and rear axles ) you will know why some are priced less. It costs alot of money to engineer small packages for good performance. The old saying... you get what you pay for .... was never spoken better. Good luck in your search.

As much as I would love a Hydro I am going to have a very hard time parting with my JD 650. Mahindra dealers in Canada are scarce with the closest one being 500 km away. Parts and warranty would be a major issue. JD has provided excellent service for me over the years. The big problem is that our economy is pretty hot and there are no real deals to be had. Maybe I can get a better price down south. The best I have so far is $22950.00 CDN for a 2520 c/w 200cx Loader. The Mahindra 2615 HST comes in at $19,100 CDN c/w loader. $4,000 difference...go figure.

Wow that is big:eek:, but you do have access to JD Dealers local. Work'em down and be patient.

I'm not going to put down the Deere. I know they are both good tractors the Mahindra is a little bigger tractor but near as I can see the 2520 is the closest comparison. Parts availability I can assure you Mahindra is second to none. Service is only as good as your dealer so you will have figure that one out. The Mahindra dealer network is growing quickly. A lot of past Deere dealers are taking Mahindra on. Get on both tractors and drive them as you need to feel comfortable on the tractor you buy. Good luck with your decision.

You have some valid points so my thoughts would be its the 3120 (deere) that should be considered/compared. It is the next size up from the 2520 and the Mahindra slayer (just kidding)
