LIke Rocky said they do test the tractors at the Nebraska Testing facility. Mahindra, Kioti, Kubota, and numerous others DO NOT have their tractors tested. Nebraska has done some independent studies as well and has asked for permission to publish these results and none of these mfg. would consent to it.

As someone who regularly sits in the seat of a Kubota and who has had ZERO problems with the B2910 that I get to work for all sorts of tasks, I decided about a year ago to look for bigger tractors. I've got a 32 acre field behind my house, this is the last year it is being leased out to a "real farmer" so next year I get to play out there. If I buy a tractor it will be over 40hp. If I buy a tractor over 40hp it will be a tractor that is submitted to the Nebraska Tests. So while I have a great relationship with my Kubota dealer, and while I have purchased about a half dozen small tractors from him, I won't buy a large one from him. To me the only valid tests for the 40+HP classes of tractors are the Nebraska tests.

I want to know that I am getting what I actually paid for.

JD, Case, New Holland, McCormick, Massey Ferguson and some others submit their tractors to the Nebraska Tests. From what I can tell, Branson, Century, Kioti, Kubota, Montana, Mahindra do not voluntarily submit their tractors to the Nebraska Tests.

While not a Nebraska test, I believe these are also valid measurements of a tractor's performance.

There are some changes in the works that may result in Kubota being test by Nebraska. We'll just have to wait to see.

Hmmm... that's interesting... now I understand why he was suggesting Nebraska. Initially flew right over my head (thought I felt a puff of air go by).

While I'd like to see all the tractors tested, it will not influence my decision on which tractor I purchase... UNLESS there just happened to be one that did super poor or unless there were some serious safety issues/flaws. In those cases I'd probably just try to step up the line to a better model.

Yes, I know that this is an ancient thread. But I just came across it. Presently, the Nebraska test labs are testing many Kubota models. I still have not seen one for Mahindra, though I bought one.
