So is Mahindra still shipping tractors with air leaks on the hydraulics? Surely as wide spread of a problem this seems to be, they have addressed the air leak problem. I wonder though, because the BRAND NEW fresh on the lot less then 2 days old Mahindra 7520 I test drove, wasn't as fast as yours by a long shot at 7 seconds. I realize 2 seconds doesn't sound like much, but it is if your waiting on it.
Based on your bad experience, it sounds like they are still shipping 7520s with the air inleakage problem. :( That probably disappoints me more than it does you! Shows that someone somewhere is still not on the ball on this stupid little item.

I wonder how many sales they've lost based on that one air inleakage issue? M-USA... are you out there listening to folks with cash in hand like Sandy??? :(

Oh yeah, 2s is a huge difference! you see it right away when you are used to 7s vs 5s. Ive heard Mahindra wants this problem to go away. I truly dont see any indication that they are aggressively willing to help the afflicted customer -- and I looked. They appear to think their responsibility ends when they tell you what it probably is, whereas I think they should arrange for pickup and pay $100 a day while its gone. I fixed mine myself on a gamble that the diagnosis was right. They would give no supporting data such as pump and gearing specs.

Well the John Deere's seem pretty pricey for the same class machine, I considered New Holland, set on several, I don't care for the loud rattly engine the TN60 I drove had. A TN70 or TN75 would be a better fit to the tractors I'm considering, but I didn't get to test drive one. I WILL before I buy a tractor. I haven't gotten an official quote, but I believe they will be on the high side. One dealer I went to sold Kubota and New Holland, and he said the New Holland would be several thousand more for the same spec tractor of a Kubota. I haven't ruled them out though. In fact I've found some used TN75's that I could afford and thought about looking at them.

I honestly just have not looked at Massey. I will pull their website up and take a look now. It seems a lot of the tractors I see on the Local Massey dealers lot is old school layout and design. Great tractors, just not much inovation going on in them. Maybe my local dealer doesn't stock the up-to-date stuff, just good old iron work horses.

Any recommendations on which Massey to look at? Maybe I should have been more open in my post about considering other tractors. I was trying to get specific feedback on the tractors I liked and was considering. I'm still open for other suggestions.

James

Well good for you, for at least considering others. I would tend to agree about the Deere.

I would like to know what your Kioti dealer has against the Kioti loader?

Good luck,

Good luck,

As a matter of fact BOTH Kioti dealers I visited sold their NEW Kioti tractors equipped with Bush Hog loaders.

I asked one of them why no Kioti loaders and he said he didn't believe it was as strong as the Bush Hog loader on a DK65S at least. He said the Kioti loader on the DK65S flexed under heavy loads and he didn't believe it was as good of a loader as the Bush Hog. It may be $$ related. Put a Bush Hog loader on, sell it for less or make more.

That's one major thing the pushed me away from the DK55. They had it equipped with a Bush Hog 3045 loader. Too small of a loader in my opinion! It made no sense to me, as the DK45 had a bigger Bush Hog 3545 setting right next to it. It was much bigger and very noticeable! I asked if this was a mistake and they said not, the DK55 had to have the Bush Hog 3045 loader due to mounting reasons. Still makes no sense to put a smaller loader on a bigger tractor.

I would consider a DK55 with a bigger loader, but I think I like the DK65S engine better anyway.

I put off shopping Deere for a loooong time believing they would be overpriced. I ended up buying a Deere because I thought it was the best value among what I saw (no nearby dealers for MF or Agco), at the same or slightly less than a Kubota M5040 would have been. Deere list prices are pretty high, but I would encourage anyone to actually look at them and get quotes before dismissing them as overpriced or necessarily even more than blue and orange tractors.

Considering what you have said,,,, I would stay away from the Kioti!!!

Your right about $$$$ related. I have no clue as to what "flex" they are talking about??

I tried to go with Deere when I was looking. Dealer in my backyard, but would not bring a tractor to my place. I believe it was a 5310 I was looking at.

Exact same thing happened with them when I was looking for a zero turn. I was looking at a 757.

2. Montana 4540. EXCELLENT COMPACT tractor. It had incredable power for it's size. The FEL was a little weak for a few things, like 5x6 round bales and the operator station is way to small for anyone over 6' tall (I'm 6.4"). Sold it to to a friend and I think it will work perfect for him and his place.

When looking at prices I thought the Kubota was the way to go. When finding out the Kubota doesn't weigh much more than my 4110, and probably weighs less with my filled tires, I have to wonder what one would want with a utility tractor as light as the M7040 when the Montana wasn't up to snuff on the loader work you were doing.

The Kubota only weighs about 800 lbs more than the Montana did, and even though it has a beefier loader the extra loader capacity is quickly negated by a lightweight tractor. Unless you plan to do a lot of mowing type work the 7040 is likely to disappoint you like the Montana did if you are expecting a lot of lifting power and brute loader work.

When you go to lift the 5X6 bales with the Kubota you are going to have to have loaded tires, and possibly even extra weight on the back. You won't need the extra weight hanging off your 3pt for a lot of other tractors.

You can go smaller in HP with the Mahindra. like the 6500 or 6520, or the Kioti DK65s and get a tractor that can do more grunt work. There is only about 5 PTO hp difference in these machines and the Kubota.

The TN75 will outweigh the Kubota by 1100 lbs. and is another good option for someone who plans to put a loader through the paces with a lot of heavy lifting.

I had my first JD when I was five years old, a little pedal tractor that my parents bought me for Christmas. I have been a JD fan ever since, had an 870 for 6 yrs and it was great but when I went to buy a tractor last spring they would not drop in price one bit because as I was told, "JD is King in this area." I am now driving a Kioti and so far have been pleased with it.;)
