You are correct, you can end up with a Electronic PTO on the 5525. The 540E PTO is the economy mode where the engine runs at 1700rpm to get 540 PTO speed instead of having to run at 2600rpm I believe to get the same PTO. It is nice when I have my MX6 on the back vs. the HX15.

You get electronic PTO engagement wtih the 24F/24R trans. One nice thing that comes with that is you can put a training seat in the cab so people can hang out with you. The PTO engagement lever won't clear the seat, but with the switch - that is not an issue.

On my 5525 I would have ordered triple mid and triple rear valves. Mine has dual mid and dual rear. Which so far has been perfectly fine. My HX15 only needs 2 in the rear and I don't have a loader. If I add a loader, I would want the option to put a grapple bucket on it. As far as the rear valves, I can see where on a batwing mower it would be nice to control each side seperately.

I added the highback seat. It just pops in - it is well worth the money.

I have a rear wiper on order. With the mower - sometimes it can be really hard to see out the back.

I also ordered a grill guard. Sometimes mowing corn stalks will get caught in the hood release and also I run over some pretty serious brush and I figure I might as well protect the front end.

The ehitch is awesome.

The adjustable draft arms are really slick.

Overall, I am totally thrilled with the 5525. I have put 29 hours on it in the last couple weeks. I am using it for some larger jobs, so the hour count is really adding up compared to my 4720. I have 59 hours on my 4720.

A 4720 with a cab is going to be a really slick rig. If you notice, the height on each tractor is pretty close. The 5525 is wider, but not by a huge margin. The wheel base difference is signifcant. The clearance is not a huge difference. The 5525 comes down to more power, more weight, and better traction. Of course I could get a cab in the 5525 and not the 4720 but that is in the works.

Some more pictures of 5525 tractors, this time some orchard specials models.

Here's a 5525 2WD with Turf & Field rear tires, note the low exhaust pipe position.

Here's another 2WD with R4 rear tires.

Another view, with a 6420L in the background.

The business ends of the 5525 and 6410L, looks like that 6420L three point hitch is pretty robust.

And last, a close up of the Turf and Field tires, which looks much more aggressive than a regular Turf tread, much more void space between the tread blocks.

D, thanks for your thoughts and info.

I am a ways off from buying another tractor but I really like the 5525. Looks like a good package of size and power and it will fit on the trailer! I am thinking that I would want the 3mid and 3 rear remotes for loader/grapple and box blade TNT. I like the thought of being able to temporarly drop the speed in tough spots with the high/low pushbutton on the 24F/24R transmission. My kids would love the training seat. When I think about my kids someday using the tractor I like the thought of a cab even more. Big chunk for a cab but I think you would get it back mostly when you sell or trade, and I know my allergies would appreciate the cab.

Keep us posted on your fun...er work. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I really like my 5525, but I am glad I have the 4720 also.

Now, on the transmissions. You can change gears, I do that often. I might be in B4 and push the clutch in and go to B1 - works good. I have not driven the 24F/@24R. You might want to look at the 6420 also. The Cab is much bigger and nicer. AC vents on the front console is nice and the room is much better. I am going to try to figure out a training seat in my 5525, but I am not 100% sure I can do it.

If you are ever down towards the Dallas, TX way, come on by and give them a whirl.
