You can boot the CD everytime if you want a simple setup and speed is not an issue. The only drawback is that you can install additional software.
If you install to your hard drive you can add open office, non standard wireess cards etc...

I just wondered if you were booting from the hard drive or the CD. I have been running Linux for a number of years and would find booting from a CD to be very limiting.

We have Debian, Red Hat Enterprise, and Fedora Core Linuxes running here, along with Mac OSX, plus WindersXPee for apps that just won't run anyplace else.

I think I am right in saying that they will all end in .mab

If I remember correctly the collective address book is called history.mab and the personal one is called abook.mab

Well, it's been resurrected from the dead. This is the first post using the new operating system, Ubuntu. So far, I like it a lot. It even comes with a complete Office Suite called Open Office. All free.

I did reinstall Windows XP and the system is dual bootable to either operating system but I intend to use it only for whatever programs I can't get to run on Ubuntu and stay off the internet when using Windows. Too many opportunities for mischief.
