Frank & Others,

The internet is a great place for information on just about everything. TBN is where I go for tractor information but for computers I go to: http://www.pcworld.com/

This is true but a new USB scanner is easier to setup and will be faster than an older SCSI scanner, especially if it's a USB 2 scanner. Frank said he is getting USB 2 with his new computer. USB 2 is backward compatible with USB 1 devices and you can buy one of these scanners at a pretty reasonable price now days. A new USB 1 scanner is also faster than most of the older SCSI scanners. Franks old SCSI card may not be compatible with Windows XP. For the price of the new scanners I think I would go that route. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Hi Frank,

What's the bottom line cost of this system without including the monitor?

What are your main uses of the computer?

Frank,

For video editing and photos the faster the components the better, along with plenty of memory.
The thing I hate about upgrading computers is by the time you plug your new one in it is obsolete. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif
You will love the speed of your new model. They have come a long way in 5.5 years. You will be able to edit as many pictures in 5 minutes than you did in an hour with the old one. /w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
