Concealed Carry and Consequences

I'm sure it's still the same as when I went to college. At that time, there was almost always a vet attending class on the VA bill. They've already had firearms training, and have, in quite a few cases, been entrusted to carry firearms while serving the USA overseas. That student would be my first choice for a concealed carry permit, to be valid any time, anywhere. No execptions. All the exceptions (these absurd "gun-free zones") do is round up unarmed people in one place. Something they call a 'target-rich environment' for a wacko.

edit: One more thought. Anyone who has the power to institute a "gun-free zone" should be held liable for the safety of those inside this zone, as they have denied the people in the zone the ability to defend themselves.

Thats right,these places need to protect their customers,,think about a big store like lowes or wallmart,,if they was probably one mass shooting in one of them,they'd all have a guard at door,,we have had many such mass killings in past several years at schools,,the people who run these schools ain't doing there jobs and keeping up with times it is now pretty clear,,but lowes might be next,who knows,,them places would be pretty easy targets too for a crazed idiot.
Yeah,maybe it is time for everybody to start walking around with their deer rifle slung over their shoulders after all? I can do that,its just a shame we would have to is all,,but than again it would be a shame if every time I walked into a place,there would be nervious barney fifes eyeballing me,,what a world this is becoming,,,thingy

What it all boils down to is that no one is going to stand up and take blanket responsibility for another person's safety.. or for the safety of a group of people. In the end.. each and every one of us are responsible for our own safety.

If I thought my safety was solely in the hands of the 'Mall' security guard.. or the door guard at the bank.. well.. that would be yet another reason to make sure my CCW deffinately stayed current.

Unarmed security guards (God bless 'em for the crap they put up with) around college campuses, banks and malls are really no more than ushers or tour guides. I'd guess most concealed weapons permit holders have more firearms training and understanding of self-defense laws than most unarmed guards.

Well,still say theses schools need to do more,and alot more,starting today,,what about grade and high schools,do you think they need to start letting them kids carry guns?They can't,so the school is supposed to protect them,,but even after several mass shootings at public schools they are not doing a good job in this still.What about when your in the hospital,you supposed to have a gun under your pillow?
In a government like we got,the government is supposed to protect us in certain areas or if they can't this country will fall apart,,if we have come to a point here where it is nessacary to carry a gun to go to school than we are going down fast,your congress men are so occupied with silly little political things that they are incapable of doing what they really need to do,you watch,their reponse to this will be to make new laws to prevent your right to buy a gun. thingy,,hud,I ain't talking about unarmed guards,so,,,
