Concealed Carry

Roy,

I guess quality service from Taurus, or any company for that matter, is
a luck of the draw, so to speak. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

A coworker has a Taurus revolver. Loves it. He had a simple little
problem and sent it back to Taurus for repair. They told him they
would reimburse him for shipping. He got the revolver back and
the problem was fixed but no check for the shipping. He went to
shoot the weapon and found out the one of the cylinders was too
tight. He had to use a little ooomph to get a round into the
cylinder. This did not happen before he sent it into service.
This problem is much worse than the problem for which he had
the weapon first serviced.

The only thing we could think of is that the put the cylinder in
a vice and caused a deformation....

He sent a registered letter to Taurus. It was never received.

He picked up the phone and actually got the president of Taurus
on the line. He started to explain what his concerns, when the
president said, "I'll look into your problem." And hung up the phone.
Since the president did not bother to get his address or phone
number I don't think Taurus's president is really going to "look
into the problem"

My friend t'aint real happy with Taurus right now.......

Buyer beware.......

Roy, As I write this I am wearing a "Baby Glock", Glock Model 36 in cal .45 auto in a thumb break holster on my belt. I can't shoot it very accurately yet, need more practice but would be real dangerous at 25 feet or so and think it a great alternative to hand to hand combat against someone armed with knife, club, or gun. I'm pretty good with my Colt Gold Cup National Match but it is a tad much to conceal.

My wife uses a fanny pack (no one wears them on their fanny but wears them in front) It has a quick opening compartment that holds her S&W Air light .357 real handy. I will get one of those fanny pack thingies for summer use.

In Oklahoma you apply through the County sheriff with passport pix, fingerprints, FBI check etc all goes to the OSBI (Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation) good for 5 years. You must not be a fellon nor have been convicted (maybe it was just arrested) for domestic violence etc. and the Sherrif has to approve. Comes in three flavors, depending on the state approved training class you passed: Derringer, Revolver and Semi-automatic. Derringer is Derringer only, Revolver is good for Derringer also, and semi-auto is good for all three. We both are lisc for everything. Lisc is good through reciprical agreements with many other states but not places like CA or other havens of liberal gun control fanaticism.

The best source of information on CCW licensing is www.packing.org
Information for every state is there, along with safe passage information for traveling with a firearm.

I let mine expire. When I had one I carried a series 70 Gold Cup in .45 ACP, as someone else mentioned, this is a little on the bulky side for concealed carry (probably the reason I didn't carry too often, which is the reason I let my permit expire). Make sure whatever you decide to carry is a gun you are willing to spend some "quality time" with. /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif
By quality time I not only mean comfort when carrying but something that you are willing to practice with. This was the one reason I did choose to carry the Gold Cup, I practiced with it quite often for Bowling Pin shoots, so I had the confidence in my ability to place my shots accurately and quickly.

Winchester, three blades, about 2.5", stainless. Licensed to carry in all 50 states as long as I don't have to fly to get there.

Chuck,

Ok - you're a fortuneteller!! /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I'm not used to swooshing one over heads. Three blades. Winchester, or the name at least, branched out.

I do tell fortunes with crystals. I can usually predict rather well the probability of success a graduate student can expect in his quest for an advanced degree from how close he comes to guessing what it is he thinks he has synthesized, or isolated, and crystallized.

I have a permit in Pennsylvania, I carry a Berreta 96. Same as the 92(one the armed forces use) except chambered for the .40 S&W.
