I didn't watch the interview. he doesn't represent me. In fact I found it rather odd that the local radio talk shows were buzzing on the interview. His link to Levy and her disappperance is the main thing that interests me. Like a lot of people I have a strange curiosity about such things. Yea, I admit I've read books about Jack the Ripper and the Borden murders too. I knew he wouldn't say anything about that.
I think this article sums up his "performance"

I think the American people are sick of these sleezeballs and their lying. If they were doing the job we are paying them for they wouldn't have the time for "womanizing". What a pig this guy is. I think he should step down and quit wasting the CA taxpayers money on his defense.

Thank god we have a moral man as President now. I don't think the moral fabric of this country could withstand another lying cheating president.

My $0.02 worth only.

I agree with you 100% + We now have a good moral man in the Oval Office and a now have a good moral man as Vice President. A president that conducts himself in a manner as Clinton is not a man, lying and fooling around on his wife and then lying under oath and to the American people. Let alone fooling around with a girl that is about his daughters age. I could go on,but I won't.

/ Condit #24
I agree also, if their wife or husband can not trust them, how can we. The problem with clinton was now some people try to justify their acts by saying I have my private life. What is lost is that when we elect them, they have no private life as long as they work for "US".

Talk about a diversion: His private life is none of our business. But the issue was he lied under oath!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronald Reagan did not think you should remove your jacket, let alone roll up your sleeves when in the Oval Office,Our sitting President Bush says the jackets stay on in the Oval Office and the women are to be dressed in proper attire as well.

Clinton was in the Oval office with his pants down around his knees.

Talk about a difference in character and respect for the highest office in the world, let alone the nation.

/ Condit #26
Hillbilly,

An interesting point about the respect for the Office.

There is a major difference in how Billy-Bob-Bubba-boy and Dubya treat the Office of the President. You have hit the nail right on the head as to the character of the people holding the office.

The Clinton chapter to our history is over and just beginning to be understood. Let us see how it is written and how much influence the man has in determining future events. How often will he be called to provide guidence to future Presidents. IMO, not much!!!

/ Condit #27
Look at Jimmy Carter,a fine moral family man,who still sets good examples,be it habitat for humanity or anything else he does. Gerald Ford is another fine man with good qualitys,I read a story one time about a stewardess on Airforce 1 mistakingly dumped a cup of coffee,in Presidents Fords lap.He just laughed and they got him a towel,I imagine he probably new how humiliated the stewardess was with herself.

/ Condit #28
Ah yes, but. Even after Clinton lied to the American people about Lewinsky, even after it became public knowledge that his mantra was "deny, deny, deny" Clinton remained a very popular president. He had many people defending him, and alot more bought into his "private life" defense. If he had been able to run for a third term, I'm not so sure he would have lost.
I hate to say It, but it seems to me that If we are at peace, with a good economy Americans could care less if the guy in the oval office is a masher.
The only differrence between Clinton and Condit is that in Condit's case the girl is missing. But yet I hear that even the dems are turning their back on the guy. That politically he is toast. Condit did seem to at least try to follow Clinton's lead, but bungled it badly. Maybe experiance helps/w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif
What I would like to know is what does all this say about us, the people who vote and elect these people.
Hillbilly, I have long felt that Jimmy Carter is proof that good men don't always make good Presidents.

Ernie

/ Condit #29
I am not so sure Jimmy was that bad of a president then again maybe he was not the best either,he just was not one of the guys up at Washington.I don't know if I would say Clinton was as popular as he was controversial,he sure did not represent my views, since I am not politically correct, and I am not a liberal,I feel a lot of the ground work for his success pertaining to the economy was laid out in the 80's. I think his foreign policy was a disaster.
You are right about people being at peace when the economy is good, and most of the people that bought into the "private life defense" are pretty low on morals or naive in my opinion, the thing was that he broke the law.I sure can't say that Clinton was a good president,he would have made a good used car salesman.Look at these last minute pardons etc.His brother Roger Clinton makes poor ole Billy Carter look like a rocket scientist.
I keep thinking back at this last election, look at the map and who supported Gore and who supported Bush, there was a lot of farmland etc for Bush and a lot of your big cities supported Gore, heck Gore could not even carry his home state and WV a traditonally democratic state carried Bush.A person could hash this out for along time depending on where you stand on things,I guess this is one of the great things about this country you have a choice.

Best regards

Yep, Carter was considered a "bad" president and Clinton a "good" president, when I think they (and others) frequently got the credit, or the blame, for things they actually had little or no control over at all. And that's nothing new; it happens in business, government, and even our personal lives.

Just wonder what everyone thinks of Gingrich and his afair with an intern, Livingston's long time afair and even Eisenhower and his afair with his secratary, or do these not count. Just wondering I do not mean to be Offensive.

/ Condit #33
They count, they are just the same, along with the Kennedys.

/ Condit #34
The polls showed Clinton's approval rating as high, but I have never heard anyone that I know IE: on the street,to say he was a good president, where were these polls taken,New York,San Fransico,Miami. I do not get the impression he was a good president,I am sure history will not look on him as a good president, certaintly not an ethical president. Name me anything good that he done while in office.

Clinton had an eight year love affair with Hollywood....The big liberals that are the politacally correct type,he had fundraiser after fundraiser out there. The Streisands,Opra,Roseanne......The list go's on.
The 1st action he took when he was elected 8 years ago was lift the ban on the gays in the military, that was a priority!!!
Then he had that Elders women for surgeon general:What a joke that booted her out because even Sick Willie could not handle her ideas.
Hillary and her health card,I did not know she was president too.
Lets see he rented out the Lincoln bedroom to Red China.
Then there was White Water.
Gore was out in California courting the Chinese.
No president travelled as much and had fundraisers as much as Clinton. I read one time where the amount of money Hillary alone used for travel upon Airforce one was second to none.
Organized labor supported Clinton, look who signed NAFTA.
Selling technology for missles to Red China.
The Monica/Paula Jones scandals.
Also impeached as a sitting president
A great president? I do not see how........
We have more red tape now than ever to deal with(less goverment?right)
What else ?

/ Condit #36
Hey, this is about Condit.... not Billy boy.... /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Aha... we have discovered the Clinton legacy!! Scandal....

/ Condit #37
Folks,
I think I better leave well enough alone!!!!
When I was a younger guy an ole friend of mine was talking about a disagreement amongst two ladys trying to both lead a 4 H club, one lady was trying to push her religous beliefs a little too much and it ended up with two 4H clubs from 1.
The ole guy said there are 2 things you do not bring into a group/club,and thats religion and politics.
So I refrain as of now.
Have a good day!!!!!!

/ Condit #38
darylh, they certainly do count. Livingston, I'm not familar with. Gingrich, If I remember right was divorced. Even so, I would say that having an affair with an intern is totally inapropriate.
When you refer to Eisenhower, I assume you are talking about Kay Sommersby. This alleged affair took place when Ike was supreme allied commander, during WWII. Sommersby was a British citizen at that time, and a member of a womans volunteer group. Even though they wore uniforms, I don't think they were part of the British military. Sommersby was Ike's driver. This rumor has been around since WWII, and has been told and retold, to the point where it is just taken as fact. I have yet to see any proof of such an affair.
But your point is well taken. Liberal or conservative, there are some positions where I think it is right to hold people to a higher standard. And not just elected officals, others such as police, I would also include in this catagory.

Bird, You are right of course. Maybe what I should have said was, Good men don't always make effective presidents.

Ernie

I certainly hope we are a new path, "Leadership by example". These people knew when we elected them that they were to "represent" us in government. In other words unless we are all sleezball liars and filanderers these people aren't representing that which they stand for. I believe if we start to weed out the scum in Washington, it is a start at establishing a moral ethic in children. After all they are supposed to be looked up at - What kind of an example is Clinton or Condit to young impressionistic minds?

Keep up the good work "George" and don't let the chidren down.
