The difference between Clinton and Condit is that the major tv news and the press did not report on the Clinton problems except to say it is only sex and his private life. Caused more problems when the press is not honset. Now we have people like Condit who think they can do any thing they want to and not be held responsible to the public that elected them. A pol has no private life, every thing they do is public, that is how we judge wheather they can be trusted. Have we become so self centered that if a pol provides us with tax money for home state projects that they are really doing us a service.

Just wonder what everyone thinks of Gingrich and his afair with an intern, Livingston's long time afair and even Eisenhower and his afair with his secratary, or do these not count. Just wondering I do not mean to be Offensive.

The polls showed Clinton's approval rating as high,but I have never heard anyone that I know IE: on the street,to say he was a good president,where were these polls taken,New York,San Fransico,Miami. I do not get the impression he was a good president,I am sure history will not look on him as a good president,certaintly not an ethical president. Name me anything good that he done while in office.

Clinton had an eight year love affair with Hollywood....The big liberals that are the politacally correct type,he had fundraiser after fundraiser out there.The Streisands,Opra,Roseanne......The list go's on.
The 1st action he took when he was elected 8 years ago was lift the ban on the gays in the military,that was a priority!!!
Then he had that Elders women for surgeon general:What a joke that booted her out because even Sick Willie could not handle her ideas.
Hillary and her health card,I did not know she was president too.
Lets see he rented out the Lincoln bedroom to Red China.
Then there was White Water.
Gore was out in California courting the Chinese.
No president travelled as much and had fundraisers as much as Clinton. I read one time where the amount of money Hillary alone used for travel upon Airforce one was second to none.
Organized labor supported Clinton,look who signed NAFTA.
Selling technology for missles to Red China.
The Monica/Paula Jones scandals.
Also impeached as a sitting president
A great president? I do not see how........
We have more red tape now than ever to deal with(less goverment?right)
What else ?

Folks,
I think I better leave well enough alone!!!!
When I was a younger guy an ole friend of mine was talking about a disagreement amongst two ladys trying to both lead a 4 H club,one lady was trying to push her religous beliefs a little too much and it ended up with two 4H clubs from 1.
The ole guy said there are 2 things you do not bring into a group/club,and thats religion and politics.
So I refrain as of now.

darylh, they certainly do count. Livingston, I'm not familar with. Gingrich, If I remember right was divorced. Even so, I would say that having an affair with an intern is totally inapropriate.
When you refer to Eisenhower, I assume you are talking about Kay Sommersby. This alleged affair took place when Ike was supreme allied commander, during WWII. Sommersby was a British citizen at that time, and a member of a womans volunteer group. Even though they wore uniforms, I don't think they were part of the British military. Sommersby was Ike's driver. This rumor has been around since WWII, and has been told and retold, to the point where it is just taken as fact. I have yet to see any proof of such an affair.
But your point is well taken. Liberal or conservative, there are some positions where I think it is right to hold people to a higher standard. And not just elected officals, others such as police, I would also include in this catagory.

I certainly hope we are a new path, "Leadership by example". These people knew when we elected them that they were to "represent" us in government. In other words unless we are all sleezball liars and filanderers these people aren't representing that which they stand for. I believe if we start to weed out the scum in Washington, it is a start at establishing a moral ethic in children. After all they are supposed to be looked up at - What kind of an example is Clinton or Condit to young impressionistic minds?

Keep up the good work "George" and don't let the chidren down.
