I'm a first time buyer on a small budget. Reasonable mechanic, grew up on a farm. My budget is small and need a capable machine for excavating, building some terraced rock walls and major landscaping.
I'm looking at a 1970 Case 530 model 32. It has a serious backhoe, FEL, and is gas powered. It looks pretty rough but then it's 35 years old. It starts, the BckHoe & FEL both move. The owner says it needs a clutch ($1100).
What should I check.
It's priced at $4500 and I'm sure we'll negotiate.
