Anyone else here use a construction calculator? I just picked one up off of ebay for 30bucks and dont know how I lived so long without it.

This thing does an unbelievable amount of linear, volume, weight and area calculations. It also converts back an forth between fractions of feet, inches, sq feet-yards, and even metric.

My favorite functions are the rafter and stair calculations. This thing does regular and irregular hip, valley and jack rafter layout and with stairs it does riser, tread, and stringer calculations. Very helpful.

George; For $30 you got a real good deal. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif If I'm not mistaken you got it for less than half price. I use my Construction Master IV alot. It's made by Calculated Industries too. Your's is the next step up from mine. I've gone thru 2 of them in about 10 years. I've always been a little leery of eBay, and have never really found what I was looking for. Might just be my luck, you've obviously better luck than I. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

There are a lot of them on ebay right now if anyone is interested. The problem is people many times get greedy and bid them up almost to retail pricing. I think I just hit an auction that ended late in the day and didnt have much competition. It was new with warranty and armadillo hard case for $30 bucks including shipping. The case alone goes for $20, I think.

I'm not saying problems don't exist with ebay but I've always used paypal and never had a problem yet...knock on wood. I buy a ton of stuff there, you just have to know when to walk away from the greed or in other cases things that seem too good to be true.

Speaking of which, there are a lot of scams there with heavy equipment/tractors/skid steers going on now. I inquired about a tractor a few weeks ago and got an email telling me the tractor was in Spain...and where overseas I could send my money-yeah right. That one was so obvious it was funny.

I use a Construction Master IV all the time. It make building anything just a little bit easier than it was before.

I had a seller on ebay tell me they had a JD 550G dozer that they would sell to me including delivery from Finland for $5,000. hahahaha

I told them I'd give them double their money the day it arrived. I'm still waiting.
