Hey Guys,

You have always been a good sounding board, and I wanted to see if you could help me with this?

My 1995 M5400S diesel tractor, I accidentally introduced the wrong 5gal plastic containter and by the time I noticed, a lot of "dark sediments" were put into a now full tank [20 gals when full].

Wanted to know what is the best thing to do? I have been checking and changing the fuel filer container...anything else?

Not knowing what was in there gives several ways to go.

One, drain the tank from the lines just in front of the filters and replace with good fuel.

Two, stock up on fuel filters and try to run it out!

Three, if it might be alge get some algecide to add to the tank.

I always recommend having extra filters on hand as it is a variable for replacement at times like this.

I would drain it into multiple 5 gallon tanks and filter it through coffee filters as I drained it. I would never run your tractor with crappy diesel.
