Yeah, actually BOTH the wheeled version AND the "long handled" one work pretty good - but they work MUCH BETTER as a TEAM - the wheeled one is tricky to find a 3 foot long container to dump it into, and standing it on end is really clumsy. That's why I collect from the floor using the wheeled one, then DUMP it back on the floor (but in a 30" long straight line) and then pick up the straight line of metal with the smaller ROUND one, which is REAL EASY to dump in a coffee can.

I bought a SECOND pair of those for around the mag drill station (which is about 100 feet from the shop area), and those even work on my "custom gravel floors"

BTW, the exhaust fan thang hasn't worked YET, keeps gettin' sidelined by things that think they're more important  but thanks for reminding me, I still need to order the OTHER 3-1/2 sets of fans/louvers so they're here when I get back to it

Startin' to think my main problem is physical - my body thinks it's time to slow down, but brain hasn't got the message, it just keeps comin' up with crap for me to do/build...

MINIONS - THAT'S WHAT i NEED; YEAH, THAT'LL DO IT - 'bout a dozen of 'em to start - Oh, crap; then I'd need a place for 'em to stay. Dang, that's YET ANOTHER project  Oh well, bedtime... Steve
I think you have found another excuse to get more containers

"I think you have found another excuse to get more containers "

My wife's standard response to that - "Please do NOT encourage the CRAZY man..."

Besides that, if you were referring to "minion housing" it'd be just my luck somebody would rat me out and I'd get busted for human trafficking

Re-thinking the "minion" solution, I remembered that most of the TV shows we've seen that involved "minions" shoulda taught me that it's NEVER a good idea to give minions any IDLE time; it NEVER turns out well  ...Steve

:drink: I never had a house payment so Congratulations on the house pay off, it must really feel good, how long was you was paying on it? and I'm not going back to August or any other month' day year to find out........

("That's why I collect from the floor using the wheeled one, then DUMP it back on the floor (but in a 30" long straight line) and then pick up the straight line of metal with the smaller ROUND one, which is REAL EASY to dump in a coffee can.") NO NO NO your doing it all wrong, what you need is buy a new vacuum with a 30" straight hose......:duh:

"how long was you was paying on it?"

Just under 40 years total; re-fi'ed 'bout 24 years ago to help both kids with college, now both of 'em are finally gettin' where they can (and WILL) pay us back. House loan would've been done in another 3-4 years due to paying $400 extra the last few years, but the 401k was paying about 1-1/2% and the house was at 5-1/2%, so when the insurance started treatin' us like a red-headed step child I had enough...

Vacuum won't work for this, magnets ignore dust bunnies and wood shavings so it's easier to separate wood shop stuff from metal shop stuff by using BOTH (in the right order :D) ...Steve

Mark, if you start tryin' to get mortgage free this late in life, about the only sure-fire way I've seen involves a shopping cart, a beard, likely a puppy, a piece of cardboard, magic marker, and hopefully a non-leaky bridge

I guess there's also the lottery; I hear the FIRST ticket improves your odds a LOT (like, from "NWIH" to maybe 1 in a "giga-quad" - more tickets; not so much...

Watchin' Netflix with Mrs. Bukit tonite, every so often ONE of us would comment, "Hey - we OWN this dump!!?!" then we'd laugh

I'm pretty sure that bein' able to laugh at most of life is a LOT of why we've been together for 53 of our 73 years

Tomorrow, it's gonna be " OK, break's over, back on yer heads" (I LOVE throwin' out punch lines to jokes to see who's heard 'em )

Any takers??!? Steve

I hope you or somebody tells the joke, cause I haven't heard it and I am older than you!
