Well the other day I was jumping off the tractor and my hammer loop on my pants caught the loader control(joystick)on my la302 fel and it didnt bend or break the joystick but I heard a pop or snap and now when I use the loader when raising, I pull down and it goes past were it use to stop. The loader goes up but if use keep going it will stop and the hydraulics sounds like its straining. The only reason im asking this is because my dealer is really backed up.

I'm not totally following what you are saying - your typing is like mine - doesn't always come out as intended.

I think the upward limit on your loader is the cylinders on the loader and it's not controlled by the loader valve itself. You say it raises up higher than before? By about how much? I think when the cylinders hit the end of their travel it stops going up and that's that. The noise is probably the relief valve in the loader control doing what it's supposed to do when the cylinder hits the stop at the end of its travel.

It all sounds normal other than the apparant increase in lift height.

Hayden, Maybe I can explain a little better, Before when I pulled back on the joystick the loader would go up normal and stop, Now when i pull back on the joystick the loader will go up but now i can pull the joystick back farther than normal and on the way up while pulling down on the joystick the loader will stop going up and the hydraulics sounds like its straining. Hope this is a little better.

It sounds like to me there is a stoper on the controll that will only let the valve open so far. If you go farther the that it is like putting the lever back in a nutural state and the motion stops. Look under the lever for some sort of stop, the lever could be bent and not hitting this stop now. For whatever reason though you are able to pull the valve to far open and it is shutting its self back off, and unable to bypass the valve the correct way because it is pulled out to far the hyd's are laboring. The other thing is the stop is inside the valve body
(I think like a snap ring on the end of the valve), if this is the case maybe you could weld a bolt on the outside that would only let the lever be pulled back so far, but you may have broken peices floating around inside the valve body.

Just my 2c worth.

On the bottom of the valve there are caps, remove them and see if the snap rings are still in place.

There is a cap on the bottom, and that is exactly what it feels like, Like a snap ring or something came off when I did that. Ill check it out tonight

OK, I get it. It's the control lever thats moving more than normal, not the loader.

Art's suggestion sounds good. I don't know the insides of control valves..
