Here is one I made... started with a trailer hitch.

That's cool! That's similar to what I'm thinking. I would have never thought to build a trailer mover out of a trailer hitch. Very creative there!

I built this one a couple of years ago.

I welded 4 5/16 grab hooks on the top edge, the screen is 3/4 #9 expanded metal to keep the log ends away from the tractor and tucked safely away from stumps and roots.

Looks great! I like the screen guard to protect the rear of the tractor. Do you pull multiple logs with that outfit? It's the right color too!

A lot depends on the size of the log, but I've had enough hooked to it that the 3 point didn't want to lift it. The L3400 is rated at 2000 lbs lift capacity.

For my home made receiver/trailer mover hitch, I built a lift arm that pins to the top link on the hitch. Very similar to what Stan has in post #8. Only my lift arm pins on and off as needed.

Mine is about a foot long and telescopes to about 2 feet long. The 3pt isn't very powerful at 2' out, but I have skidded a 20" diameter log about 20' long.

Only picked up the end of the log about 6-8" off the ground and chained it up close to the receiver hitch. Moved easy enough.

Good luck

Here's a new one I made last yr. It's a drawbar, old reciever hitch, and some rectangular tubing. When I sold my B7500 last yr the guy saw the hitch I made and had to have it so this one is my new replacement. It has to be one of the handiest thing I've made.

RobKinNH,
Did you weld the tube on top of the draw bar just for extra strength or was it for a solid surface to weld everything else to? I was thinking about just welding a receiver tube to the drawbar itself with a tube runnig to the toplink. I figured it would be strong enough not to bend, those things are heavy and feel pretty solid.

Both, I didn't want to mess with mounting the pins on the ends of the tube so I just cut the old hitch to length and welded it onto the draw bar. I had the draw bar that I just never used and the reciever hitch was off an old Blazer that I got rid of yrs ago, and the tubing was in my scrap metal bin. I've only got $15 into it, a new top link pin, 5/16" grab hook, and some spray paint. :D
