It's looking good.

Kick *** processor.. I really could put that to use.. I built a big outdoor boiler/stove and she eats 8-10 cords yr. All I have is a hyd lift to hoist the big stuff.. Not everything gets split but the stuff that does is very time consuming.. Nice work..

Thanks for the compliments.

Its coming along.

Got the winch mounted.

Got to build the feet to prevent the processor from being dragged by the winch and build the ramp for the rounds to roll down into the splitter. Then tackle replumbing the hydrulics to a new location. If I have time I might rework the outfeed tables, but they might have to wait till next season.

Winch cable and motor installed.

Controls. I managed to use most of the existing hoses by being creative:D Hey, hoses are expensive!!!. I needed 3 new 1/2" ones for the winch motor, one 3/4 return line and one 3/4 pressure line from the splitter dcv to the cylinder head . Both 3/4 were less than 3'. Not bad.

Almost done now. Just need to add the log length stop. Some supports for the axles. And a lock for the log lift so it stays in place during towing and when parked.

It looks good. At this rate you will be up and running this weekend. I have a few questions. Will need a roller to keep the cable from rubbing up top were the log enters the processor? Will you need a ramp to get the log onto the processor? How do you let the cable out on the winch, do you have a free spool or are you just going to run the cable out?

Very nice work -- I love it! Can't wait to see a video of it in action.

Right now the cable lightly rubs on the ramp. A roller might be in order. Im not sure yet, its not a big deal, just scraping the paint. There is a log ramp there.

To get the cable out, I just run the winch in reverse. Freespool would be ideal but so far I can just pull off about 20' at the winch and run over to the logs.

Video to come, which might show operation better

The feet are working perfectly. So far the processor is rock solid when winching.

The lock for holding the chainsaw in place. Originally I planned something fancy with a over centre mechanism, but a hitch pin works just as well

Blurry shot, sorry

Close up of the log length stop. Its just a chainsaw whip. Cheap solution, only $4.95:laughing: Adjustable from 0" to 24" length, which is about the maximum my splitter can handle.

A little test run. Its much, much faster and easier than doing it the old way. Tons less handling.

It looks good. You can't tell it was a splitter turned into a processor.

It looks great! I did a similar thing. I found that the bar didn't seem to get enough oil idling in the vertical position so watch it.
One of my problems is that I don't have the proper space to set up and no equipment to stage the material. If I had a place to leave it set up i would build a wood deck to roll the logs onto the infeed table.
