Every so often I have to replace bolts and such on my Kubota. Like the bracket on the frame for MMM. When possible, I replace metric bolts and nuts with SAE, it is too painful to chase down metric and when you find it. it is way too expensive.
The MMM bracket lost the thread - replaced it with TSC bolts and nuts of appropriate size. Now I need to fix the linkage on the 3pt and one of the limiting turnbuckle is missing and one of the bolts it bent beyond saving. I have to build the turnbuckle and I am not even trying to find the M12 - just plain SAE is good enough for me there.
From engineering point I hate to have a mix of metric and SAE on the vehicle - but it is some much easier to find SAE and cheaper too.
Am i the only one?
