Like Ruth Chris

Or is it Ruth痴 Chris?

My favorite waterfall is in PA., near the Laurel Valley?

Frank Lloyd Wright built the Kaufman family from Pittsburg a house there, it sits above, on top of the falls.

Falling Water

Now that is what is going to MAGA,

Here's some you guys might like. These two reside on a lake in the UP of MI we camp at and one morning they swam past within 40ft. They didn't have any cygnet's this year.

Are those whistling swans? I don't see any orange on their bills. If so, I haven' seen those in decades. We have lot of mute swans here.

Thy are trumpeters. Seems that we've seen mutes as well but not recently.

I've never seen a trumpeter swan down here. We see the whistling swans (technically I guess they are call tundra swans) once in a while, but they don't like urban areas. On the other hand, the invasive mute swans don't seem to mind people very much at all and we see them in about every lake, large pond, etc.... I've been watching a pair of mutes for the last three years raise their babies. They are very attentive parents. The dad is a tough guy! If he sees another pair of swan on the lake he puts his head down and puffs out his wings and steams over there like a battleship. The intruders see him coming and head for shore. They'll get out and stand on the bank and he'll swim back and forth in front of them for half an hour, then head back to his mate. He also chases geese that get too close. He'll chase ducks that come onto his nest island. But for some reason, he never chases the wood ducks. Maybe they're too small to be a threat.

This is a really enjoyable thread. Fantastic pics of Mother Nature & her cohorts.

Snymat 68 - post #833. At the very bottom - the white bird on the limb. What kind of bird is that?

I'm always curious what this large mushroom clump is and why it always shows up seems overnight after a heavy rain at the base of the same large oak tree in the same spot.20200828_154752.jpg20200828_154814.jpg
