Toads are scary as ****.
My kid had a pet toad. A large female American toad. She lived in an aquarium and usually stayed in an overturned clay flowerpot with a cracked out side for an entrance. About every two weeks we'd go buy some crickets, coat them in some kind of nutritional supplement, and dump them into the tank. Well, the first things crickets do in the light is run for a dark place.... the flower pot!
They'd all run in there and then you'd see them all trying to run out. Like a Monty Python sketch.... Run away! Run away!
You'd see dirt flying out of the pot, and once in a while, just as one cricket would make it out a bit, the toad's tongue would whip out and grab it.
It was horrifying!! :laughing:

Nature is cruel...and horny. I remember as a kid listening to all the bugs chirping and birds singing and all that...and my older brother was like, all that racket is horny bugs and birds trying to get laid.
