Cordless grease gun?

Do the guns with the flexible hose require the use of one hand to hold the hose tight to the fitting while the other hand controls the grease trigger?
The Lincoln cordless grease gun I have has a flexible hose. Usually, the hose 'snaps' on to the fitting, so there's no need to use 2 hands.

Bob, I've just encountered too many places that I couldn't get a rigid stem onto a grease fitting, so when I got a grease gun with a rigid stem, I promptly replaced it with a flexible one. If I knew I was only going to be using it where the rigid stem would fit, that's what I'd use. With the flexible stem, it usually requires two hands to get it on the fitting, but then it should stay while you pump the grease.

I had a g/gun with a rigid stem.. it worked GREAT on the easy to reach fittings. Then there were those ( on my 1920 ) that could only be reached via flexible hose.. and yes.. you have to hold them to grease them. ... which creates a problem. Usually I have to prop thge gun against my leg.. use one hand to pump the handle, and the other to hold the end on the fitting.

Seems like an electric one would make that easier.

Soundguy,
I have a standard cartridge grease gun with pistol grip lever and flex hose. I recommend this setup for anyone using a manual gun. I have been the lever type route too /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I hadn't thought about a hand pump type... nice idea.
