yeah.. someone in Indiana has the sniffles. Someone has a case of flu. Wow, this is real news. This is NUTS. Just idiotic. There is nothing to fear but fear itself. A famous man said that a long time ago, and it holds true today. Likely thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of people in the US have this virus RIGHT NOW. And so what? What is going to happen to them. I tell you what is going to happen to them. They are going to recover from it. The vast majority are going to be fine. A little over 3000 people have died from this worldwide. It can't hold a candle to how many have died from "regular flu". Like there is such a thing. INSANE!.

Yet we are "worried" about Covid-19? Why is that? Someone please tell me why we are worried about 14 dead people killed by covid 19 when people are "dropping like flies" from Flu. Show me the logic. Please do. Cigarette smoking killing hundreds of thousand every year. Why aren't we worried about that? Second hand smoke? You don't see people wearing masks to protect against that now do we? This is just nuts. Just insane.

14/340 is about 4.1%

You are right...nothing to worry about less than 100 times the death rate.

BTW, if it infects 40,000,000, at that mortality rate...over 1,600,000 dead.

Didn't someone quote Auto deaths on this thread the other day? Maybe 200 per day?

I had to go to KC, Truman Medical Center, downtown for a Dr Appt, there sure wasn't a shortage of autos on the road!!!

And my 71 year old Brother hasn't been able to work for nine years now because of COPD. Smoked his whole life. It is very ironic and genetics.

The last Arby's around here closed... seems not enough beef eaters?

Now it is a Taco Bell but very little traffic compared to Arby's

Mex and Chinese Take Out are just about every street corner.

As for business as usual at work it isn't and certain staples such as masks are in short supply AND we are using more.

Standard Practice is to keep some on hand in the lobby... where a box of 50 would last a week now sometimes not enough for a morning...

My Division is Elective Surgery so you generally need to be healthy or the surgery is rescheduled.

The cruise ship circling the waters outside the Golden Gate has certainly heightened awareness through press coverage... it is home ported port of San Francisco.
