But apparently there are some here that think those that wear them look silly.

Of course you look silly but it is better to look silly than to get sick.

I just feel like we are playing way behind. This country is full of really smart people but a lot of the time we act pretty dumb.

I can't understand that. Firefighters wouldn't enter a burning building without safety equipment. Why wouldn't 911 responders have safety equipment? How many people can you quarantine before there is no one left to go?

Seeing high numbers from Italy is one thing but when I start to feel their pain though stories like these COVID-19 becomes more than just numbers. I hope we are not too late to avoid the same.

It is so sad. They needed help and there just wasn稚 anyway to help them. I hope and pray that those chosen to receive treatment and the personnel deciding who got treatment find peace that they survived while others passed.

Number of infections are going to ramp up quickly as mass testing finally starts taking place. If the death toll remains low as it has so far it's looking far less fatal than initial reports of 3% or more.

I read that the average age of CV-19 deaths in Italy is 79.5 and most had high blood pressure.. I wonder if it was high blood pressure that was not being treated? I heard about the malaria drug that has some promise on the CV update from Feds this morning..

Regarding N95 masks, 3M is making 35million per month, but only 5million were approved for medical. The feds got that changed very recent and now the whole 35 million are available for medical use.. other companies are stepping up, heard GM might make ventilators at some of the auto plants.

I have seen no signs of this or heard of any reports either...The same type of buying occurs every time a major (winter or tropical) storm approaches a region...prudent measures are NOT considered an act of panic...!

Not to downplay the seriousness of this crisis, but perhaps it is waking up folks to how dependent we are on China (and other countries).. perhaps rethink some things that should be made in USA (like critical prescription drugs, food, etc).

That won't happen. When all is said and done 'Mean Dollar Green' (coined by Lou Rawls) will prevail.

Live with due care, i.e. walk down the shoulder facing traffic, not refuse to live and hunker down all scared of what is inevitable anyway.

Yes, especially the ones that bought all the flour.
I would bet that 90% that got have no clue as to how to use it.
And several jugs of milk at one time, hope they like it when it turns on them.
The extreme closures are also over kill, I can't believe the ACLU hasn't been in court already over them.
If it had been the President doing these closures it would have been a _hit storm.
