Apparently Italy has a high Chinese population, and many of them returned from China to celebrate Chinese New Year. Whoops. Then there was that whole "hug a Chinese" thing.. Not such a good idea...Nothing like virtue signaling to get a good epidemic started.

We did that at the grocery store we hit earlier this week. The young lady appreciated it, and admitted she was apprehensive about coming but "had to". Likely a single mom who has to work but that does not matter. Doing something nice for someone else can help both the giver and receiver.

I think it is too bad we can't all get N-95 masks. It looks like it would help. Even if every one wore cloth surgical masks it seems like it would help contain the droplets that you breath out.

Seeing high numbers from Italy is one thing but when I start to feel their pain though stories like these COVID-19 becomes more than just numbers. I hope we are not too late to avoid the same.

I agree, Chris. But apparently there are some here that think those that wear them look silly.

We have our first death here in Missouri now. The person was transported to my daughters hospital in Columbia from a 911 call, she tested positive Tuesday and was dead by Wednesday. Apparently pretty far along in the course of the disease. She was in her 60's and her disease was contracted from international travel. 6 responders have now been quarantined.
