What is the correct paint from Kubota for a B7610. Dealer had two shades and gave me Bright orange II. Is this the correct paint? I'm painting the rims and spacers I'm using for duals and it dosen't look right. More like a flat color than a gloss. Would like them to closely match. Thanks

Suess,

I can't help but think it a Kubota dealer had two shades of Kubota paint, and one did not seem just right, that it might be time to try the other... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

In the end though, maybe neither will be exact...in that case, throw a little mud on it...that's what I'd probably do anyway... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I know I'm not being much help... /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Spray paint in a can is never a good match for the paint that is sprayed from a spray gun. It is good for some quick touch up, but not much more. I would use a few cans of Chevrolet engine orange @ $3.99 a can and not worry about an exact match, The Kubota Orange II is the correct paint for models that are no older than 4 or 5 years from what I have learned, but I have never found a spray can of paint that would duplicate the finish of a professional type of spray gun. It is a guaranteed conclusion that after a few weeks, no one will know the difference between what you painted and what was painted at the factory. As we used to say at the shop, "a man on a horse at a gallop, won't ever notice the shading variation of your poor paint job". The painter was never amused, but the rest of us used to always get a good laugh out of it.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Suess,

I have a '99 B7300 that when I bought needed some touching up. I bought a can of Kubota Orange II from the dealer. It made a perfect match and had a nice high gloss finish. I was very impressed how the areas I painted came out. I think the Orange II is for mid-90s models and newer. I've posted on a few different threads about Kubota paint and I've seen a lot of people talk about using Chevy Orange. I have never tryed it and it might work great. But my experiences with the Kubota paint... I'll never try the Chevy Orange because there is no way it could look better than the Kubota paint I used. The finished product looked like a base orange with clear coat on top. It does take a few coats for it to come out nice and smooth looking. After 1 or 2 coats it did seem to have a rough look (orange peel). But one more and it smoothed it out and in the end looked very good and was a perfect match to my factory paint.

dmanspadge, I have been known to "cheat" on paint that is so expensive.

Since the Kubota paint is about twice the price of Chevy enging orange you could put a few coats of the Chevy paint then finish off with a couple of coats of Kubota paint and save some $.

From a dealer it would just be Kubota Orange, without the "II."

KirkMcD is right. The older models use "Kubota Orange." I believe the "Kubota Orange II" is for '94 and newer models.

Kubota Orange II is a brighter orange whereas the original looks a little more faded.

Mith,

I think that the II paint is a little more glossy. The older Kubotas that I've seen appeared to be a close color match to the new ones, they just didn't have the shine/gloss appearance.

I painted my toothbar with the Tractor Supply Kubota Orange...It does not match the paint on my L3130. TSC paint appears to be more of a lighter, brighter shade of orange. I have not tried the Kubota paint.
I am sure you will find a match if you look around a little. Good luck.

Thanks for the information. After another coat it's closer but not as glossy. I guess it's as close as I can expect from spray paint. Thanks again.

I just purchased a can of Chevrolet Engine Orange Spray paint manufactured by Bright Beauty, a Sherman Williams Company. It is very glossy and covers well. The part number is BB407 Chev. Orange. The bar code is 26916 31407. At $3.99 plus tax it is a bargain as compared to the Kubota paint that doesn't match as well or have the luster either...

Kubota changed shades of orange in the mid to late 80's. Bright orange II was introduced on the B1550, B1750, and B2150,s. All models since then use Bright orange II (70000-73713) and gray (70000-00210). Prior models use orange (70000-73710) and blue (70000-00197). These are part numbers for aerosol spray cans. Touch up paint is also available for these colors.
