Correct tire pressure (newb question)

Don't recall my tire size but they are almost full of wwaf and have less than 14psi in them. The front have closer to 35psi...

Pressure depends on type of rating and what's printed on the sidewall.

Not really.. Its max load, including weight of the tractor, that you expect. There are charts for weight/load vs psi vs speed (that you are using the tire at). Rarely do you use the max on the sidewall for normal use.

Same goes for your car and truck tires..

One can always tell what the weight of load will be ??:confused: Speed rating may be governed by vehicle type.

All mine are at max.

Tire manufactures have charts online with consideration to size, plys, weight , speed and side hill applications .

I run mine as soft as the load will allow with some sidewall flexing with the heaviest load. My back is more important to me than any tire that might fail from under inflation on the farm. My Silverado runs at the recommended 35 because I'm running 20" tires and they don't have the sidewall that can flex that a normal 78 type tire has. Seems the suspension is tuned for that pressure as the ride is smooth as silk as is the comfort of the seats........Fisher body at it's best.

Are you talking the max of the tractor manufacturer's recommended range, or the max stamped on the tire? The latter will generally give you poorer traction, poorer ride, and quicker wear on the center of your tread. It might give you better gas mileage, if you were running on pavement, but that's usually not the primary concern for running a tractor.
