Yup.

We had a fire.

Made my day.

This is what we in the trade call a, uh, well, uh, well, uh, how do you say? uh, well, three hundred and thirty nine dollar hickey?

And that didn't include the sixty dollar kiss from the road service to remove old smokey and place the hickey where it belonged.

What happened was I made sure the Rhino lining surface was protected and used the fire blankets I'd had on the tire not thinking that a MIG dingle berry (little ball of fire that finds the neatest places in the world to cook) would slip through the gap and set a tire on fire.

This will all be covered with Rhino lining. But the customer didn't want to use bondo if we didn't have to anywhere.

So the enhancements were welded in. Welds were ground down. And any cavities or divets were filled in with weld and re-ground.

It was a lot of work.

But the Rhino will cover any left over flaws hopefully.

We'll get some pictures with his enhancements or augmentations complete in the morning.

I wanted to finish it up tonight. But I ran out of get go before I ran out of job tonight. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Harvey, you just stated my life story in one sentence. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I drove through Wylie the Thursday before the get together at Jim's place. I saw an identical rig, only it was gray at the auto center on the west side of 78, south of Pearson Stone. I was wondering if that was the Pete you were talking about. Guess not. Pete's brother might need the same augmentation. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Morning James, that one was the one I made the rack for the jeep. It's Pete's stepdad's.

That one is a four door and this one is a cab and a half. I'll post some pictures of this one complete later today.

The cab conversions come from the same company. But the bed and hitches are from different ones. They both are too nice for words. Every option that a strut pickup has and more.

Plus they're full sized Petes with four thirty Cats and twelve speed auto shifts.

Nice job on the bed work.

So this is what cosmetic surgery is all about. Now I understand when my wife says I need cosmetic surgery? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
