Cost for my Exmark?

I posted this up in the buying comparisons forum and was told to post this here...

I am looking at a couple of Exmark mowers, and need to pick one for my property. I live on a somewhat hilly piece of land, (3-5 acres to cut with more coming), with a couple of 20+ degree slopes, one of which I can mow side to side, but the other > 20 deg I need to go up and down.

I would like to get the Exmark Next Z with the 29hp Kawasaki and 60" deck. I may want to put a bagger on it in the future if I can find one used.

The other consideration is the 34 HP Kawasaki. Is it really worth the extra $700 or so?

The only other consideration for me was the 27hp Kohler, and I like the Kawasaki engines a little mrore.

The Lazer Next Z with the Kawasaki in my area is going to cost me $9990 which the 34hp will be $700 more.

Are these good prices? If not, where else should I look?

Hi,

I mow about 5 acres a week on my property. After discussion with my Exmark dealer, I went with a 52 inch Laser Z Advantage Series with a 23 HP engine. Paid $8374 for it. I've only had it for 2 days but already did my 5 acres and it is a fantastic machine.

Whether you want to go with the higher horsepower engine is personal preference, but this unit is great and mows incredibly. I cut my mow time in less than 1/2.

I can't help you on the model thats right for your needs- but, I can say, "At least you're choosing the right brand".

I had tried out a Grasshopper, Hustler and a Exmark Z. After mowing with the GH I realized that I wanted to stay with a front mount mower. I then tried out a 25HP diesel GH and a 25HP Exmark Frontrunner. I liked the FR better and have cut my lawn iwth it six times since buying it, I love it, great mower!

I purchased a Exmark Lazer Z AS with a 27 Kawasaki last year for the exact same reasons and conditions you wrote about. After 75 hours now I can say it has turned out to be a real asset, what a great machine. Plenty of power and stability. I chose my dealer because he only carries Exmark machines with the Kawasaki power plant. My opinion is this turned out to be the way to go.

You know Sperry, The Exmark Z that I cut with was the Next Z with a 29hp Kawasaki and a 60" deck. That was the first ZT that I tried out. it was a BEAST! Gobbs of power!
