I was surprised and wondered if it were the tractor or just my imagination. but this clears things up a bit with the bi-speed turn.
What you are experiencing is the difference in tire ground speed between the front tires and rear tires in the Kubota tractor. They geared the front tires to run at a slightly faster ground speed than the rears. This allows the tractor to turn shorter in 4WD without turf cutting as bad and helps pull the front around in sloppy conditions. The down side is, in 4WD, driving straight, the front tires are trying to outrun the rears which creates binding. To sample this effect, drive straight in 2wd, while maintaining steady HSD speed, engage the 4WD, you will feel the tractor slightly increase speed. The reverse of that is to drive straight in 4WD, maintaining steady HSD speed, disengage the 4WD, you will feel the tractor slightly slow down. Bi-Speed turn is significantly more technical than that.
