Looking at the top link mounting assy on the TC33, I don't feel comfortable putting all the weight (stress)on the top link. Aren't the lift arms meant to support the weight ? (It's within the 3PH lift specs for the tractor as listed in the manual)

Tom, I think you are correct. The Class III tractors have a relief valve built right into the lift cylinder to allow pressure relief due to high shock loads. That pressure is about 3,600 lb on my tractor, I'm not sure what it would be on the Class IIs, but it is at least half-again the lift capacity of the 3PH. With your ballast box you should never experience any stressing of the hydraulics, even if you hit a bump and transmit a shock load to the arms. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jim......I know that before I installed the counterweight any quick movement of the loader caused the tractor to shake or jounce around. With the weight on, none of that occurs anymore. I also made pads on the bottom of the weight assy to set the weight on so I could lower it to the ground when not using the tractor to take the stress off the 3PH hydraulics & tires etc. The quick on & off features of the loader & weight will also make the transition back to lawnmowing with the MMM a short job in the spring.
