I have a question regarding the single spool valve.

Is it possible the port with a plug (marked with green arrow) is where a power beyond sleeve or plug could go?

Are there any known specifics on the single spool valve donated by a friend? While he had it mounted on the same model of tractor and loader, it is likely he did not have it plumbed correctly and was using the tank port to feed other circuits like the 3 pt hitch.

If the friend bought the single spool valve on line or at a local hydraulics place, make and model details on that valve might provide a final answer re PB possibilities

I would not think so Dave. That looks to be on the power in side of the valve. Most likely that would be an optional in port. Does not hurt to research it though.

All that the mono-block valves I have seen the relief valve in on the pump port and the BP is the port that is in line with P port. The PB port well a finished bore down inside and others have threads down in the bore.

His dad had the valve installed. He didn't know if a dealer did it or not. It was plumbed in series on the power in side. I think it is a Prince valve. Good thing is my friend said he will give my money back. He was concerned that it might reduce my lift capacity like it did on his. Probably going to purchase the Landpride 3rd function kit

Even though it worked plumbed in series, when activated to open or close grapple, the fluid going thru the valve made a lot of noise, almost a screech

We got the Land Pride kit. Came in Saturday, worked Sat and Sunday nights after work. Got it all nice and neat, wired in under dash, so it only has power when key is on. Still waiting on QA loader mount to come in. Works the grapple nicely.Shared album - T. Jeff Veal - Google Photos
I made a gauge to check my hydraulic pressure. I hooked it to 1 side of the 3rd function valve, since the coupler I had was that size. Looks like relief pressure is 2200-2250 PSI. Would it be the same on the loader valve? I have some shims ordered, would like to go to 2500 PSI...
Does that sound ok?

I will assume you plumbed the new valve after the loader valve using power beyond. If that is the case, then yes, the loader valve pressure should be the same. If you plumbed it before the loader valve (not recommended) then the loader could be different.

There should be two relief valves that dictate system pressure. The main relief on the tractor it the one you would need shims for. This most likely is already set somewhere around 2600 psi and should not need adjusting. The other relief is on the loader valve. It normally is located under the boot for the joystick. This one should have a jam nut you loosen and a slot for a screwdriver that allows you to adjust the pressure. Once you get the pressure you want then you hold the screw from turning and tighten the jam nut.

I would not adjust the main relief at all. The loader valve relief is the one I would adjust if needed.

That said, I have found on my tractor that 2200psi is a good place to be. If you go too high you stand a good chance of overloading your tractor breaking things. Personally I would be happy where you are now.
