Ok, so educate me.

How is this inherently safer,

Vehicle manufacturers have deep pockets and many lawyers. Do you? If something unfortunate happens can you pay the millions that they have been made to by the courts?

Also, gasoline doesn't store well. It's only good for a few months. I just had trouble with some I got last fall. I got lucky and it didn't cost me any engine damage or repair bills that certainly wold have exceeded the few cents a gallon I might have saved buying in bulk.
