As for the ubolts, can you turn them over so the bolts are pointing up? The u side would still hurt but at least they won't impell

The bolt ends do not extend past the light housings, so not an issue at this time. I am going to be fabricating a metal canopy soon and will use the u bolts to mount it.

How about some hooks on that bucket?

I'm going to be welding one on the backhoe. Dealer recommended against the FEL, if it comes in tweaked from uneven loading, it may void warranty.

While I agree with a tweaked bucket not being covered there is no real reason to worry if you use common sense when lifting things. Never lift on one side only. I have a hook in the middle for relatively light things and one on each side that I use in tandem on heavy things. I also have a hook on my backhoe but I use the ones on the bucket a lot more. I use them almost every time I use the tractor it seems. Very handy.

I also like the actuator mod. Doesn't look any more dangerous than the fancy tractors that have an electronic actuator on the rear of the tractor.

I'm a mod guy too. Not a tractor made that wouldn't require a mod if I owned it. :)

The Kioti/Bobcats use a simple mechanical linkage at the rear, it works great and I'm sure relatively inexpensive to implement.

The NX does not have a lot of room between the implement and the rear tires/fenders, I've almost dropped a box blade on my feet a few times using it... but it's worth the risk :)

A canopy was mentioned. I modified an old JD backhoe canopy, added two front posts and installed it on the Kubota. I welded tabs to the framework and bolted the canopy on. The reverberating sound was almost unbearable. I took it back off and added a rubber belting strip between the frame and the canopy. Life was good then. You might not have that problem with just a canopy suspended from the ROPS though.
