Love Dave Stamey. But my personal favorite is "Campfire Waltz" - that song just speaks to me. A close second is "Buckskin Horse".

Just picked up this thread for some good reading. Fell in love with Crash then half way through found out he was no longer with us. May he RIP and may this thread keep his memory alive for all of us.

Loved the stories and pictures, so I will add a few of my own just for Crash.

This is how I was raised. 1963 I think. I was three years old. My Granddad, father, and uncle were doing all the work.

By ten years old I was an experienced hand. Giving my 1 year old brother his first ride while my Granddad was waiting at the trailer. We were headed to load some cattle that morning. Old pictures make me cry. Really miss my Granddad!

My Granddad Jack Austin in 1937 at the one room house he built on his prairie grass homestead in the high plains of Texas. So flat you could see your dog running away for three days. Lol.

We gave demonstrations at the local schools while I was in high school. Me with the branding iron, dressed for the part. Lol!
