Coyotes in Southern Ohio

Lots of coyotes around here, I love to hunt them would rather hunt them than deer. Run an ad in craigslist wanting someone to come hunt or trap like was stated earlier. Get a few responses and interview them, pick 1 and let them cut down the population some. Yotes are a blast to hunt and can be quite the challenge at times.

S.Shaner,
That's great news! Let's hope it passes right away.

PA just passed (in the house) a $25/per bounty on coyotes. Looks like it will become law. Here, west of Pittsburgh, we fairly regularly see them or evidence that they were here.

Here in southeastern Indiana we have tons of them. My uncle has killed several of them during turkey season. I guess they were looking for a turkey dinner. The past two years I've killed one opening morning shotgun deer season. Both of them ran right toward me. I'm trying to raise goats so the population of them is a serious concern.

We are ate up with coyotes here in Georgia. Although I don't mind them that much; its the feral hogs that I can't stand. Those little evil *** bulldozers tear up land and destroy farms.

Coyotes have been in southwestern Ohio for many years now. At least around where we live.

i dont understand what really the problem is?? they go bout there business up north here, dont bother anyone or domesticated animals. why place a bounty or hunt them?? id rather seen coon/possum/skunk/squirrel bounties, these things are out of control.

Were we live now they are not a problem. Where we used to live they are a huge problem. Development in a rural area has crowded them into the inhabited areas there. In these areas the coyotes will snatch pets, cats and small dogs, right out someones back yard while the owner is watching. Even here we keep a very close eye on a puppy. Not a concern 10 years ago.
