Craftsman motor replacement?

Yup thats true. I saw a LT with this same motor that they said was not siezed but claimed needed a new starter listed for $200. I contacted and it had just sold for $200. That assumes they were telling truth. Also who knows about other listings. Its also in perfect condition until you show up and see all the holes rusted through the deck...

It actually looks exactly like i expected. One piston linkage shattered and grenade shrapnel everywhere. It almost looks like a new piston would get her back running. Yeah, not worth the effort though.

That crankshaft is shot. These engines need oil in them to run for any length of time, plus you have to limit the RPM.

The motor i was going to pick up refuses to spark even with coil from my old engine that was known working. The starter spins it just fine and seems to have good compression (didnt have tester with). Wondering if no spark is something easy that could be fixed or just move on. Not sure what they would take for a scrap motor so may not matter. Any suggestions?

I am also looking at the used market to find a different electrolux option but this is an option I'm keeping open.
