I have a Craftsman 2005, MN#917275390. I was given this mower and the previous owner had squirrels chew up the wiring harness. He bought a new harness but never got it running. I have found bad safety switches (clutch, brake, and seat). The problem I am having is: I have everything connected and there is a blue wire (from ignition), 2 double black wires, and 2 single white wires. Lookin at the wiring diagram, I know 1 of the white wires should be connected to the solenoid and a black wire (unknown if it is one of the double black wires left over). This mower has a light switch. It does not have a hour meter. (which I think the blue and 1 of the double black wires should go to.) I have put a jumper wire connecting these two together and it blows the fuse. I have left them loose, turned the key on and read the white wire(.001-4) (which should go to the solenoid) and it does not give me the same as the battery reading.(12.75) I only have the battery hooked up to the solenoid. I am getting the same reading off the solenoid as battery.

Please no smart remarks!!!!! All I am asking is for someone to tell me what I need to do or correct.:(:(:(

Wiring diagrams abound for these machines but that said... I amps not at my mower but on mine the double black is an unconnected ground and th blue should not be attached to anything but your hour meter. If no meter you should have a short looped blue wire as a cap.
