Cream

I hope to see the Cream reunion....too bad they are not playing in the states....just London for now and only 4 shows .....the last I heard....

Trivia time....

Who cowrote " Badge" and played a little guitar on it ?????? Hint...Eric played on one of his famous songs...While My Guitar Gently Weeps... Good friends and both good guitar players.... Oh yeah, Eric was kind enough to talk this reclusive guitarist/friend to do one tour of Japan back in the early 1990's. Eric and his band acted as this guys band for this rare tour. Eric always the friend and always a class act.

Has anyone watched the Crossroads Guitar Festival on PBS? They usually show it during their fund raising week. What a great show. It was Eric and the folks he believed to be the best guitarists in the world. Wish I was there to experience it first hand. I did go to the greatest concert of all time..... but wish I could remember more about it. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

You got that right! I love the whole Layla album. I still have the album plus I got the CD. (who wrote Bell Bottom Blues?)

With alot of luck maybe one of these Cream shows will be put on IMAX. That would be awesome. I'd have to head to Cinci to see it but that would surely be worth it.

All this makes me kinda sad. I really like Clapton. But, I have always been a major SRV fan. The local station has a lunch special every day highlighting a band or individual. A couple days ago it was Stevie Ray. Clapton, Buddy Guy, and Stevie's brother Jimmy were at the festival where Stevie Ray's helicopter crashed...

I got to see him. He was awesome. One thing that I am glad of, is he went out clean. He had problems earlier, but he went out clean. It is sad how some great folks, like Hendrix went out. I often wonder what the blues/rock scene would sound like if Hendrix was still around...

That Crossroads video has some awesome stuff. It just reminds me right away of Stevie.

The best rockers even at the age they're reaching can still call on more energy reserves than I ever had. I got to see Townsend, Daltry, Entwhistle - and of all folks Ringo's son - at an outdoor Who concert a few years ago just before John died. He had done what must have been a 15 minute plus solo at one point. A concert memory I won't forget.

My wife (country girl) who had never been much of a rock fan when she was younger was blown away by the band. First rock concert she ever attended.

Sure would like to catch Cream though. Eric is the reason I still like to pretend I can someday actually learn how to really play a Strat. (not)

I envy you for getting to see The Who...one of my all time favorite bands they are probably my favorite next to the Beatles....The Who are the original punk band in my opinion,Zak Starkey was a child when Keith Moon use to come over to Ringos and play with Zak when he was a child.Zak had a lot of drumming influence around him growing up.Keith Moon was probably the greatest rock and roll drummer ever as far as the way he played. I never seen a band that played with the energy the way the WHO did, excellent band and Townshend wrote some excellent songs....I seen where Townshend and Daltry are making there 1st studio album together since the Whos last album "Face Dances"..The new who album is supposedly titled " Who 2" ...

Good friends dont take the wives of their best friend-(Harrison) in which Clapton did and I believe the song Layla was written about her. Just a little more trivia /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
