The log drag works really well for smoothing out the tracks from the dozer along with some of rough spots. The yellow case on the front bumper is my lazer level.

This is the dam part. It's also the shallow end of the lake and will be around 6 feet deep. It might get a little deeper as it's a good source of clay that I might keep taking from this area until it fills up.

On the right side of the picture is my giant birch tree. I have allot of birch trees in this area, but nothing even close to the size of that one. Behind it is a massive oak.

To save the birch, I've created a small peninsula, but that's not real easy to see in the picture.

To the left of the birch tree you can see the grey color of the clay on the bottom of the lake. Just above that is a sand pit. I hit sand that went for four feet!!! It's all out of there, but I still need to move clay into there to line the sides.

This is also where the spillway will go. There's quite a bit of work to do before it's ready, but some of you might find it interesteing.

Eddie, it's great to see you back making such good progress on Lake Maribou. I don't know if anyone else can tell it, but the tone of your posts has changed back to optimism since your dozer is fixed. The work looks great even if it is hot, dry, and dusty. You're on a roll.:)

Thanks Jim,

I was holding back on the name, but the new format gave it away. hahaha

If you didn't know, the Maribou is an African Stork. It just has a nice ring to it with the park and out wildlife theme.

Bird,

Thanks!!!!!! That was a close one. hahahaha

Lake Marabou it is.

I know what I did here. It sounds like Caribou and I just started spelling it that way. Or sort of.

I agree on the optimism, but somehow i think there might be a woman involved also.

I know most of you guys are going to disagree, but I would prefer a good woman over a bulldozer any day.:)

Of course Eddie managed to get himself both...

Eddie may have a special situation here.........

Dozer or woman.....dozer or woman.....dozer or woman....(as I mutter slowly to myself:))

Too close to call. She'd have to be one heck of a woman.....;)

You guys are forgetting that I have an older, well broke in dozer. Not a new, young and sexy one. There really is no comparing the two!!

Now that the dam is in place, I was curios on how long it is.

Measuring with a wheel, it is 940 feet long.

One day I'll have to figure out how many yards of dirt is in it.
