One of the things that excited me most about my "new" L4300 was the unusual uses for a tractor that go beyond mowing and FEL work. I think my favorite idea I've read here so far is using the FEL bucket as an ice chest.
Today I hooked up the auger that came with my tractor. Apparently it hadn't been used in years, because the pto shaft was rusted together and wouldn't stretch to meet my pto. I banged on it with a hammer and soaked it in wd-40, but it wouldn't budge. I was about to give up when I finally got the idea to tie one end to a tree and pull the other end with my tractor. Of course it worked perfectly, and it was a lot of fun to put my tractor to use in this way.
I bleed orange!
