Not so fast my friend.

From Homophone - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A homophone is a word that is pronounced the same as another word but differs in meaning. The words may be spelled the same, such as rose (flower) and rose (past tense of "rise"), or differently, such as carat, caret, and carrot, or to, two, and too. Homophones that are spelled the same are also both homographs and homonyms.[1] Homophones that are spelled differently are also called heterographs. The term "homophone" may also apply to units longer or shorter than words, such as phrases, letters or groups of letters that are pronounced the same as another phrase, letter or group of letters.

Appeal denied -- the finding of homophone abuse is confirmed.

Cool info. Thanks

Growing up as a red neck in a tobacco patch in the south west corner of Calloway County KY the command of the kings English was not job #1.

Later in life I having had my high school English teacher tell me, 'Boy I ain't got no hope of learning you nothing.' carried more meanings than I realized at the time.

If you remove the tag on your mattress while hiding your money under it, is it a crime?

Sorry, couldn't resist.

So, back on topic...

I still like my credit union. Haven't heard anything bad about any of the other credit unions in town. There are a couple local banks that get pretty good reviews. Never hear anything good about the national banks except they have lots of branches all over the country. We had a decent federal savings and loan that gave us very good service on our three mortgages. However, they got bought by a bank and the service went to heck.

If possible, try to build up a grub stake in a savings account that can cover all of your living expenses for 6 months, prefferably 12 months. In most cases, that will be enough to meet the minimum balance to get free services from most credit unions.

If all someone has at say 50 years old is 12 months of living expenses they will need a whole lot more than a credit union

The sad truth is this describes a lot of people...

On the plus side... 1/3 of home owners nationwide are mortgage free... some areas it is near 80% and in others 10-20%.

I know a lot of people that live pay check to pay check and they make good money...

It is more a lifestyle than how much you earn...

Once again, you are not up-to-date with current civilization.

MOST prudent financial advisers suggest you keep 6-12 months worth of living expenses in cash in a bank account so you can access it easily if you lose your job. You keep the rest of your savings in investments. Investments usually take some time to convert into cash.
