Ok folks, my Dad and I can not figure this one out so I need some help. Looking through a Tractor Auction mag we noticed an add for Case (I believe) talking about their transmissions. They stated that theirs would do 60' per hour. My Dad and I were trying to figure out what you do at 60' per hour or when would you need a gear that slow! Ideas??
How about a missing zero? 600'/hr sounds more like it.

Just looked again. Its a MF talking about their Dyna-VT transmission, here is the wording straight from the ad. Now there could be a mis-print in the ad itself.

"Creeper speeds as slow as 60 ft/hr standard."

I know it sounds odd thats why it caught our attention.

60'/hr seems right. I just checked it out on their site.

FAE has a tiller type of implement that is used to crush rocks. Used by potato farmers and others for field reclaimation. Supposedly able to crush loaf of bread sized rocks down to 20" under the surface, it keeps all the mineral nutrients in the soil and doesn't create huge piles of rocks.

Sounds like a hydraulic drive with a low gear final range engaged as needed. --[0-31mph] -- HST can do this when its needed. I dont know of a tractor gear tranny that would provide for .01mph.

My JD4700 is a gear tractor. There was an option for a creeper gear. It would be handy sometimes when I'm trying to pick up something with the 4n1 bucket or the pallet forks.

I believe that my Parsons trencher will go as slow as 8" per minute. All gear. Lucky for me I haven't had to go that slow very often. Only when digging through solid rock and is it hard on those carbide teeth.;)

I don't have anything that major, but our FiatAgri 90hp tractor has a creeper range. If you put the range in I (ranges I-IV) and use 1st, at idle it is significantly slower than comfortable walking pace.

I has used it when I had cleared fence rows of trees and had them cut into pieces, I'd aim the tractor parallel to the fence and get off and pick up limbs and throw them in the front bucket walking alongside the tractor or ahead of it. I could walk 20ft away grab an arm full, walk back to the tractor (it had only gone 5ft) pile it in the loader and get more. It moved so slow getting in and out wasn't difficult at all.

The Fords Chris was talking about had some very low gears with the optional transmissions. I wouldn't be surprised if they could be had that slow.
My lowest creeper gear when used at max. RPM is rated at about .20 MPH. I don't know what the ground speed would be at a responsible engine speed.

That 8" per minute is at full throttle.;)
