Thats a cool pic , but man oh man I don't think I'd feed that guy bare handed.Also I'd be afraid he might jump up on me bite and give me rabies or something.

Wait till David/MossFlowerWood see's that He's been after a fox at his place for a while and here you are handfeeding them !

As far as the foxes funny we both use a carrot as an attractant just different types ! :laughing:

LOL I might feel differently about it if I still had chickens, David. We usually have 4 dens of foxes in the cove and this year we have just the one male and no females so dont have the heart to do him in, poor lonely guy. He comes by several times a day mooching, and it is a piece of deer rib left over from dinner Boone, no vegan foxes allowed here:laughing:

Good Picture Boone, we have more blue ones then red here. They do seem to take unnecessary chances, almost as if they like your attention.
I think that is a "Broadhead skink" and the blue ones are "5 lined skinks"

Just saw this on CL,don't know anything about these fish. Just wondered they'd eat your stocked fish or their eggs. :confused3:

No critter but I have posted before about wide variety of fish in canal that cuts through our property. Lm-bass,bluegill.mullet,snook.cats(different variety's),oscars, and here is a big talapia a friend of mine caught this morning not even 150' behind house. I'd say it weighed at least 4 lbs if not 5.

That's a big hawk! I don't think i've seen any that big around here.

Yesterday the largest Monarch Butter Fly I have ever seen came in. He / She was a large as or bigger than most of the sparrows that come in. Nearly impossible to get pictures of these guys the way they flit & flutter, just 2 quick.

'The small Hawk or Falcon came by day before yesterday. Didn't stay long . A quick look for a meal then it moved on.

Today the dogs found us a new friend. From the way the dogs were acting. At first I though they had found a rattle snake. Took my shovel ready to do it in.

Nope: Just outside the fence was a Desert tortoise. Big old guy about a foot long & 10 pounds. Now here was something slow enough I could get a picture of.
Since he would not run, after some sniffing the dogs soon lost interest. They would go check him out now and then. He poked them in the nose with his hind foot, a time or 2.

Went out to hook up propane tank. but never got it done.

Bobby & brat were at the end of the ramp putting up a fuss. Figured it was the turtle. Nope not the turtle but a Rattle snake. Once I got a little closer I could hear the familiar buzz. It was behind the trash & can barrels at the end of the ramp. Got a little shovel to take care of it with. Took a while and a few tries, but finally got its head pinned down. Used a hunk of conduit to mash its head. It was the largest rattler I have seen since moving here. About 4 feet long & pretty fat.

A little latter Bobby is over by the fence having a fit. Another rattler??? Nope old turtle trying to get through the fence. Since I took the shovel with me, scooped him a hole under the fence. He gone now.
