well the stuff i made in the crockpot came out great as expected. beans and beets were great. you've got to try it JD. seriously. i should have taken a photo. the date wasn't great as she just wasn't all that interesting. she did like the meal though.
I'm pretty sure beans and beets would be illegal in the state of Texas.
Except for one small hill in central Texas.
I thought all vegetarians had an Instantpot - Electric Pressure Cooker, Smart Cooker, Multi Cooker, It is an electric pressure cooker (that can also be used as a slow cooker) and is stainless steal INSIDE.
We use ours about 5 times a week. We have had it for about 4 years and love it! I see now the new model has some nifty improvements.
I remember ole Vinny from Australia wouldn't have anything to do with beans on that hill.![]()

Most ladies LOVE it when a guy prepares meals instead of ordering take out...especially if the meals are halfway edible....
My wife prefers the take out over my cooking...that way she doesn't have to clean up the mess!
Makes me think of that episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where his wife finally realizes she has been doing laundry every since he intentionally botched it up one time...he did that to escape the chore.
The closest I have got to a crock pot, is camp style Dutch oven cooking; using charcoal or coals from campfire.
I think this whole story is a crock.
Love the Dutch oven. Not as practical, but great way to make a meal.
We have a crock pot too.
But during the summer, to keep house cooler, we'll cook in the camp Dutch oven out on the patio. And, we use them while out camping. And when I am out with Scouts(I am an asst Scoutmaster locally).
We just put our crock pot outside in the summer. We do that when camping too in order to keep it cooler in the camper so the A/C doesn't have to work as hard.
Hopefully she was at least 18i'm pretty satisfied with my cooking skills. this was a pretty good meal for 15 minutes of prep work and no meat component.
my next date will for sure be with someone of my generation, not someone my daughter's age.
Not sure I could make blackberry cobbler in a crock potA camp Dutch oven though
